I don't think so. She was in complete control of the escape. He was completely blindsided so didn't have a chance to amass the power he would normally have tried to use. The whole thing was over in 2 weeks so she had all of her legal ducks in a row, I'm sure including the kind of threats she would have needed to free herself and Suri. I think there's a good chance she hasn't talked about it purely as protection for her daughter. Hopefully someday she'll be able to help expose this abusive cult.

If I recall correctly, TC was out-of-town on a movie shoot for an extended period, and KH established residency or at least was living in NY during this time. As a result, she was able to declare that he was an absent father, and she was a NYer.

Of course, as "Smooth" as her escape appeared, it was Monstrously difficult and detailed. I remember how freaking skinny and withdrawn Katie was at that time. One aspect of the custody agreement is that Katie gets 100% full control over what religion Suri is raised in or not. Meaning Tom basically gave up his right to indoctrinate Suri into Scientology. Katie’s father put that in the custody papers. People talk a lot about how Katie gets to decide on Siri’s education but I think an even bigger thing is how religion was put in the custody papers. Look at any other custody papers of other celebrities or most people in general and either we don’t hear about it or it’s not even acknowledged. Here it was.

Many years ago, a coworker invited me to participate in something called EST (Earhart Seminar Training). I met her at the introductory seminar, and within 10 minutes, I realized it was a cult. First, they try to convince you that you're broken and only they can show you the path to heeling. Then they try to sell you thousands of dollars of classes and workbooks. I got up to leave, and all the conference room doors were locked. As soon as they called the first break, I literally had to push past the members in the foyer to get out of there. I never spoke to her again. She quit about 2 months later. Good for Katie. I'm proud of how stealthy her parents were in getting her and Suri out of the Scientology cult safely.

Just thinking out loud. David has hidden his wife away from the world. Tom has run off both of his wives. Both Tom and David, standing facing each other can look straight into each other’s eyes. Maybe there’s a little more than just a bromance going on and scientology is being used to keep it on the DL.

Katie and Nicole were lucky to get out but you see how he controlled the outcome. To this day neither say anything negative about him or the church! Nicole lost children she loved. It’s sad. You can see he hasn’t even seen Suri in years! What kind of dad is that?!

Yes, Katie is very close with her family. While she was infatuated with TC since she was a child, he knew it, used the information and took her on the types of dates to have a person manipulated to bond with him, her parents never liked him. When they decided to intervene and tell her to get out of it fast, it was too late, she was pregnant (*possibly* before she met him?) and getting married to him, her family would be considered SPs and they would have been removed from her life. They had to go along to keep a relationship with her and ultimately to save her and her child.

With regard to the Covid vaccine, Tom would have insisted anyone near him was vaccinated because of his work. So it makes complete sense that anyone his was in contact with would have to have taken the shot, because he's just ALL that. Also, I think with regard to Surie's age, at 6-7 is when kids really start to understand and make their own decisions, therefore can be brainwashed, so Katie acted as a great mother bear and got her out.

Kids are a lot more aware than what you guys give them credit. I had friends that were secular humanists. They had a son and decided they would not discuss their lack of religion with him and allow him to make his own mind up when he became more aware. I was driving a car with them and their son was still small enough to be sitting in a baby seat. His friend who was several years older was sitting next to him. They wanted to get together the next day and play on Sunday. And a friend said well when are you done with church so we can play tomorrow. And my friend's son turned to them and in his little baby fat face and said we don't go to church we don't believe in God. All of us tried to keep from cracking up cuz we don't want to laugh at the at the children. But also because this plan had gone awry. Kids are indoctrinated or learn about their parents believe from the moment that they are able to identify mom and dad.

Isn't it a parent's resonsibility to raise their children with the values they feel are right. Either you raise them with religion or you raise them as atheists. A good parent doesn't give a child no direction. I've always thought "letting the child decide for himself" as a cop out for being a negligent parent.

Ok, on the second Bar Mitvah-first, I’m not Jewish, nor am I well versed in the theology. Last year, I watched a British produced documentary series about the large Jewish population in an area of London. It really was interesting-these people are working hard to maintain the lifestyles and old traditions of a Jewish family & and a Jewish COMMUNITY. Which I thought was great! In this series, one of the subplots was of an old man in his 80’s from Poland. When his father saw the imminent German attack coming, Dad told him (and he was YOUNG to run on his own) you can stay with us, but you may die. I want you to RUN and try to survive. Paraphrasing of course. So he ran, and his entire family was taken to concentration camp and killed. He made it, ended up marrying, had a family, a good business, etc… however, he never got a Bar Mitzvah. He had several grandkids, and his special one was Benny, who was about to have his Bar Mitvah. The story explained that Benny wished to share his Bar Mitzvah with his loving great grandfather. Again, not positive on the “great”. The elders of the synagogue met and granted the 80 year old Holocaust survivor his own Bar Mitzvah, small with close family I think. This may not be the same thing as what you are speaking about, but maybe it started a trend?

Hey Aaron. Wanted to chime in on infertility since my husband and I are going through treatment. You're absolutely right, people with infertility issues most often do have the ability to concieve at certain points or with certain treatments. Someone could be infertile for decades and have a treatment that results in a successful pregnancy, especially with the money they have. Really hard to hear about fertility stuff for me right now so I can't watch this one to the end unfortunately. But just wanted to support what you said.

So potentially I could get pregnant from a one night stand the chances are just much much lower than na average couple. Many infertile couples won't even need treatment and will concieve naturally on a long enough timeline, it's just that couples don't like to take that risk of never having a baby, so they do treatment. This is one of if not the most common form of infertility, but they still have a small chance of natural conception.
