I had the great good fortune to meet and get to know Laura while teaching at Cambridge. She is a delightful person. Her cover of this classic is one of my favorites.

Reading the comments i agree , the 12 and 13 year old you both grew up with culture and appreciate music that is sung from the heart and soul. Well myself am a musician and grew up listening from my parents tommy dorsey and the old tv shows that showed music from the heart. 60s were many folk music groups and bluegrass. Peter paul and mary, judy collins, Eva Cassidy. I am happy that you have had the oppertunity to expand your music to a level that most kids today have been brainwashed into the materialistic world of rapcrap. Btw I to cry when kathys song is played. It reminds me the time when there was more love in the world and no cell phones ! Beautiful rendition voice and performance. It truly touches my heart.

One of the good things about the modern age and its instant communciations with you tube etc is the possibilities it offers for talent. "there is many a flower blooms unseen in the desert air." but many flowers have a chance in our modern age. You play and sing extremely well and 145 thousand people would not have seen and heard you most probably had you been born 50 years ago. In fact you sing so sweetly I think you do not do justice to your voice, the sound of the guitar tends to overwhelm your voice, which may be a tenchnical/acoustic issue, but for future songs you might think about giving your (lovely) vocals more prominence. To my way of feeling you play the song a little too fast but I think that is very much a question of taste. I was very down when I chanced on your rendering of a much loved song this evening and you cheered me up no end because although this is a sad song, You look and sound lovely. Thank you and God bless you.

Wow! That was gorgeous. I've been singing and playing this for at least 36 years, so I'm a bit of an expert on this song. I do it with my own non-standard fingerpicking pattern, but you've got the real deal down beautifully. I don't think I've ever heard this done so well. I think the line is "My mind's distracted and diffused..."
