She was one of the greatest voices at the Metropolitan Opera House! Hearing her sing live was a blessing. When she left the house we all cried! The deception, the backstabbing, the jealousy…the racism Horrible! We love you KB 🙏🏻💕

She perfectly captures the spirit and mood of our ancestors, loaded down with grief and heartache, in this rendition... magnificently heart-breaking...

One of the most wonderfully gifted voices of the 20th century. I try not to listen to this piece/her rendition, because everytime I do, I end up crying. But that said, this rendition is unparalleled. God bless you Kathleen Battle!

I was lucky enough to hear her in recital several times in Toronto and elsewhere, in addition to performing with orchestra. She was absolutely stunning in everything, and often did spirituals, sometimes with no accompaniment, as encores. She kept the audience in spellbound silence with the stunning beauty of that voice and expression.

Well done Kathlleen! Amazing song, sing to amazing singer. I Love that. In 2021 hear this here in Brazil. Makes me feel glad and sad. To realize that black peaple mal arond the world, meanly in my country still find in this situation, but i have some hope, that this feeling will pass way. And the happy to come. And her is not to far. A think, and feel this way. I believe! 🙌🏾🙌🏾👊🏾👍🏾❣

Wow, she and the choir really brought that song to life as if you’re listening to cries and moans in the slave quarters at the end of the day.

Oh how awesome it would be if every politician and congress person could hear the beauty of the words of this song and musical 🎶 underscoring then they would know they be mere man and that there is A God who rules and super rules oh how humbling
