One of the most wonderfully gifted voices of the 20th century. I try not to listen to this piece/her rendition, because everytime I do, I end up crying. But that said, this rendition is unparalleled. God bless you Kathleen Battle!

I was lucky enough to hear her in recital several times in Toronto and elsewhere, in addition to performing with orchestra. She was absolutely stunning in everything, and often did spirituals, sometimes with no accompaniment, as encores. She kept the audience in spellbound silence with the stunning beauty of that voice and expression.

Nothing wrong crying after hearing this

Wondering who would thumbs down this beautiful,heart wrenching, makes me angry song?

I found her voice, her music when I was in high school at Baltimore School for the Arts,in the early 90s. Changed my life

A spiritual that encapsulates "the breath of history" and puts the mind and the soul "in earthquake "..

What beauty, what huge emotion - great flute and amazing Kathleen Battle! What a gift to us!!!!

Still sends chills up my spine.

I can feel the sound from this beautiful voice and this sensitive heart go back through the generations. Maybe it will bring healing,
