A Columbo podcast brought me here. I slightly remember this being on. I'm really enjoying these shows but the premise of her being Lt. Columbo (Peter Falk's) wife just doesn't work and could have been the reason it got cancelled. She is way to young for Falk since he was constantly talking about his wife and indicated she was near his same age. I know she is playing older than her actual age since she's even too young (in her actual age) to have a child that age. The should have made her Columbo's niece since he was always talking about his nieces and nephews. BTW, why did they keep calling it Mrs. Columbo in the second season since they had he become divorced and eliminated all the Columbo references and she became Kate Callihan?

I could not have said it better! :) I never emagined Mrs. Columbo to be a fairly young, modern woman, having her own job. I thought she had grey hair, was not to tall and a bit "rounder around the waist". :) As It is said, that Mrs. Columbo never was seen in one of the episodes, I wonder, where I got that impression from. :) Have a good time. Peter :)

So, he killed the last girl at the telescope building, put her in his car, visited Kate, then dropped the dead girl off the cliff and then he went back to the telescope, pretending he just saw the girl. It doesn't make much sense though, because he didn't say he was seen by his neighbour. Kate did that. It's a bit silly, I think.

You know I love this actress! The Columbo was married to her as smart as she was was intriguing to me. I have to say I did not know, until today, that I lost track of the show as a kid because they changed the the name of the show. She could had always had her maiden name, I don't care about that. But it left a bad taste in my mouth where in this episode they mentioned that she was divorced. She didn't need to be divorced to be an independently thinking, self sustaining intelligent woman. The show absolutely didn't need romance, which was probably the main reason why they divorced them. I love mysteries shows, I love Columbo, and that's what drew me to the show when it came out. I can see why after 4 more episodes the show was over.
