Interesting fact David Gilmour discovered Kate Bush at 14yo when he went to a friend's school play. Introduced her to record company and got her a 4 album contract. He produced her first album that contained Wuthering Heights

Actually, Gilmour never produced her :-) He arranged for her to record professional demo's produced by Andrew Powell who would also end up producing her first two albums. It were those demo's that got her signed at EMI.

London Palladium at the Secret Policeman’s Ball Live ! Performance 1987 Kate Bush ( Vocals) David Gilmour ( Pink Floyd Guitar headless Steinberger for gravity-defying bends.) Tony Franklin ( fretless bass JayDee bass to supply the oceanic low-end) Stuart Elliot ( Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel (Drums ) overdubbed a snare part to strengthen the Linn snare, and added some 'dramatic' fills at the end combined with sounds from the Fairlight. Bush said the lyrics address the inability of men and women to understand each other. Kevin McAlea (Keyboard) is an Irish keyboard player and songwriter, known for his work with Kate Bush, David Gilmour, and Barclay James Harvest and for writing English lyrics for the song "99 Luftballons", as the international hit "99 Red Balloons".[1] He also plays saxophone, guitar and uilleann pipes. He has built several analogue synthesiser systems and had an early interest in electronic music. Master piece Running up the Hill 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🇬🇧🔥🔥🔥

It's about men and women wanting to understand each other better, a deal with God to understand a partner's point of view. Check out The Sensual World, The Man with The Child In His Eyes and Cloudbusting by Kate Bush.

In relation to this particular song it is worth noting what Kate Bush herself said over the years it was about. She said of it: "I was trying to say that, really, a man and a woman, can't understand each other because we are a man and a woman. And if we could actually swap each others roles, if we could actually be in each others place for a while, I think we'd both be very surprised [...] And really the only way I could think it could be done was either... you know, I thought a deal with the devil, you know. And I thought, "well, no, why not a deal with God! [...] It's also perhaps talking about some fundamental differences between men and women [...] It's really saying if there's a possibility of being able to swap places with each other that they'd understand how the other one felt, that when they were saying things that weren't meant to hurt, that they weren't meant sincerely, that they were just misunderstood. In some ways, I suppose the basic difference between men and women, where if we could swap places in a relationship, we'd understand each other better, but this, of course, is all theoretical anyway." It is at its core, all about a wish for people to understand the emotions, mindsets, and intentions of their partner/spouse. But in the end she saw this as a deal that only either God, or the Devil, could broker and a swap that only either God or the Devil could cause. An so, in her own words, she saw it as all being "theoretical," because ultimately the differences between men and women are so hotwired and encoded that a gap between them always remains: but also that yes we should strive to try to put ourselves in their place on the receiving end of our actions, moods, behaviour etc.

First of all Pink Floyd is my number one group all time!! I also really like Kate Bush she has some incredible music and this is a great song!!! I almost never do anything like this but would like to jump to a completely different universe however really not that different with an incredible female singer here.. if you guys want to react to an incredibly beautiful song and powerful voice do Barbra Streisand's video "Somewhere"!!! Again make sure it's the video version of "Somewhere"! I always wished that Barbra Streisand would have collaborated with Pink Floyd in a song or two because I really believe it would have been incredible but just her song that I mentioned I think will shock you and Floor you at how incredible it is!!!!!
