Wow, what a unique act. This is one of those "how come no one ever thought of this before?" acts.
I like how everyone is a professional critic when late night show stand ups are uploaded

There's a big difference between opinion and straight up mean-spiritedness.
This isn't stand-up, it's performance art, and it was brilliantly executed.
this is one of the most original stand up sets I've ever seen.
I feel like they're what Vanessa Bayer's parents look like

AH HAHAHA I see it
i love their purposeful comedy its hilarious, witty and refreshing😆😆
Regardless if you liked the act or not, you have to admit that both are great at what they do. They know how to deliver. Those dislikes are ridiculous.

The awkward moment when people don't understand the difference between the material and the performers, lol. I've seen great performers with crappy material and performers who couldn't deliver great material. Finding the right fit isn't always easy. I liked the act, mostly because they were able to sell it but it's a different take on what we're used to from stand up so of course some won't like it. Doesn't mean they're bad at it.

Daredevil, their material was terrible regardless of delivery, not a funny moment in there.
In a strange way i actually found this entertaining, its not the typical comedy set but thats what engaged me
I love the way they do stand up without even doing it.. I mean like they make it look accidental and misconceptions everywhere throughout the act which is awesome.. truly underrated comedians 👏🏼
I love these two so much. They're original with their comedy and always think outside the box. They don't conform to normal standup style, and I think that's extremely important for the future of the genre.

in Thailand instead of using LOL they use 555 because the word 5 in thailand is "ha", 555 mean hahaha in thailand. just a fun fact

This kind of comedy goes unappreciated by most. Ya'll just wanna here jokes about being single or old.

Good clean fun. Refreshing, unlike every other act. Take a moment and you'll get what they are trying to do. We are so conditioned to certain formats that we don't even recognise another.
They are on some next level ish. Most Tonight Show fans would not understand. This was hilarious. 555 was hilarious also, I am rewatching the series for the 3rd time. I love all that these two do.

Mia Lentz did you see john early on portlandia? I've watched that 30x and still think it's hilarious. One of the best things I've seen in a while.
I kept saying out loud "I hate this!" while laughing and loving it.
I have watched this about 20 times and am dying for more stand up from these two. So much to quote and mannerisms to copy - they are SO funny. Love this kind of goofy daring comedy with satire too. We’ll done comedians!!
hahaha i love it. it's so bad its good. and yes, everyone, it was on purpose. if you're not into this kind of subtle comedy that's fine, but it does indeed qualify as comedy.

captivating act. natural comedians
AH I love it! John Early is great, I've never heard of Kate Berlant but I'm definitely looking her up now.
Saw them in Boston two weeks ago, been following their comedy since Search Party! Love 'em :)
F-ing brilliant! “Hi Doug!”🤣
The was great, difficult skill to pull off the "not having an act, is the act" thing. Liked the way they ended the bit also
OMG I loved them! They were so funny. Original too
This was freak'in amazing, thank you so much for taking this approach.
I think everyone needs to chill the fuck out! I thought this was great.

That is all your interpretation of what they said. What kind of feeling are you coming from to be presumptuous towards that intention?
very well rehearsed
One of the most brilliant, hysterically funny comedy routines I've ever seen. I've watched it a million times. There are comics I've liked along the way like Key and Peele, but other than them, I can't remember ever wanting to watch a routine on repeat. I love how the routine eschews the hackneyed misogyny that a lot of comedians use - the sort of "take my wife" sort of thing. Instead, they combine real social commentary - they're proud of each other, they transcend hetero-normative expectations of intimacy, escape violent cycles of capitalism. These are real issues. So smart and creative. This took me to a very buttery place. Hi Doug! Superstars for sure.
They're so relaxed and casual. I love how loose their talk is!
Problem with late night talk shows having comedians like this on is that the general audience just doesn't get it. The structure and humour of this act was really good
this was so original creative and hilarious!
it's not what i expected but i actually rly like it. i like how they r not the usual ones which you know how it's gonna be before it starts (predictable doesn't mean not funny tho). I think they r just being who they rly are and start from there to create their materials, which it's great
Omg. Hysterical. They are amazing!
Very nuanced and natural. A lot of the quality is in how they interact. You don't get standup like this too often. The only comparison I could give is maybe the sklar brothers.
I loved them.
THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU GUYS KILLED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What realm is this?
Love it! My kind of humor.
He’s hilarious 😂
OMG this so funny 😂 lol
I really hope they get huge. I loved them and want more soon :)
I freaking LOVE these two. This set was superb (though, it's not "stand up" as the video title states). Their episodes on The Characters from 'flix is so brilliant, too.
The serious high school drama exam vibes towards the end pretty damn funny!
I love them so much 😍
I could, and just might, watch this 100 times
That was refreshing
I lost it when John Early did that top hat dance.
Loved that!
What a dope act. Super cool.
Pure genius!
Hahaha that was refreshing
this was so awkward I love it
I love it!!😂
I would love to see a solo stand up from John Early

Tl;dr - if you don't like this bit, consider thinking about context before automatically hating on it... I'm going to try to comment without projecting my extreme pretentiousness: I get why a lot of people don't find this funny, and it's not for everyone, since like all art, comedy is subjective. However, I'd first recommend replaying the clip a couple times. What they are doing, in my opinion, comes from a very old style of comedy: the classic duo. Think Abbott & Costello, the Smothers Brothers, or more recently, Seth Roger and James Franco, or Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. They are both comedians, but they are also fantastic character actors, and I think this bit is a great example of a modern (or postmodern, more accurately) interpretation of that style. It's great character work, and actually very subtle, considering the range that I've seen from both of them, together and apart. Again, in my opinion, they are very innovative in their sense of comedy, with a subtle but very current social commentary about the selfish youth culture (which has always existed in every manifestation of youth culture in recent history). I'm not saying that it's too deep for many people, I'm just saying that with something so new and provocative, you might need to consider the historical context of their comedy, if this is the first you've seen of their work. Or maybe not, and you can move on, I'll still be watching their stuff!

Yes I absolutely agree. Julio Torres and Jaboukie Young-White also do a great job at poking fun at snobby youth culture in a nuanced and subtle way.
This is brilliant.
im so FOR this comedy honestly.... all the haters are old and out of touch
That was awesome
I saw them before Lonely Island in DC. They were great.
these two feel very old fashioned to me but I love it!!!

MY LITERAL HEROES.
i love that they use vimeo
Mmmkayyy, this was pretty terrific. Surprisingly funny.
Sooo good
Brilliant !!!
Both look amazing here
If you guys haven't seen their Paris video or their episodes on The Characters, then I don't think you could fully appreciate this bit.
Complete geniuses.
I love this. If it was two straight guys I bet you there would be way more likes.

SPEAK UP I don't see why you have to make it about sexual preference. I'd imagine comedy is comedy to must to most people. if it's funny then people will laugh. simple as that. this shit just blew donkey dick. yes I get what their act was about but it just wasn't funny. I mean I grinned at most but that's about it.

SPEAK UP I get that? I never said you MUST see it my way. Plus don't try to make this stand up getting dislikes be about being gay or straight. it just sucked is what I'm saying is the reason for the dislikes.
the best joke in the entire act, "I'm so proud of you"
Funny. Good to see a comedy team again. Used to be pretty common. Nichols & May. Stiller & Meara
Hysterical.
The best!
I'm so glad he's coming up in this business he's hilarious. if you liked him check out high maintenance. great web series turned TV show.
Does this even count as stand up comedy?
