Founder Anders Nyström: “The umbral machinery known as Katatonia is starting to make its first moves after an idle year of stillness. We will begin our return with a celebration of our album ”Night is the New Day” which turns 10 years now in 2019.
2019 marks 10 years since the release of their seminal Peaceville album Night Is The New Day. Now the band are set to re-issue a deluxe edition of this classic album, which will feature: two CDs containing the album, B-sides, remixes and live tracks; a DVD with the album's first ever 5.1 surround sound mix (DTS 24/96) by Bruce Soord (Wisdom of Crowds, The Pineapple Thief), a hi-resolution stereo audio mix (24/96 PCM WAV) and two promo videos; The Longest Year EP on 10" vinyl for the first time; all presented in a beautiful 48-page hardback book featuring exclusive sleeve notes from renowned journalist Dom Lawson and updated artwork from long-time collaborator Travis Smith.

Kat atonia sounds like no other band in the world today. In my humble opinion, they are arguably the greatest "heavy" band since Led Zeppelin, Their brilliant mix of hard with melodic is amazing. They touch my soul. Thanx for the add. Great song...great video!

The video reminds me of Mushroomhead's "Burn" video for some reason. Anyway, beautiful song. This is only the 3rd or 4th song I've heard of Katatonia, but I've been impressed by all that I've heard so far.

Sure but it deflates the experience. A good video, with relevant artwork creates a certain mood. Sure, the music can stand alone, but it's a thrill to see artists in their respective fields contribute to a larger idea and create a blueprint for an atmosphere we as fans can experience. This video fails to do this, I think you can see what I mean...

I actually thought the video was well done also, for the most part. I liked the color grading, though I thought the sped up parts were in poor taste, and some of the 'horror' mood of the video didn't quite fit the song. Just having a girl walking and exploring the woods would have been fine. Decent effort for sure, and everyone totally dismissing the video completely surely don't know the effort that goes into things like this. On a better note, the whole new album is amazing!

as generic as it is, it's well done aside from the going in to out of focus, it has a post feel about it instead of actually being done with a lens going in and out of focus. it feels more well done towards the end. i give it 3/5 feels, the song is 5/5 feels though. katatonia would be a few years behind the times on video though, those silly euros.
I agree with most comments, the video is kind of weak. but i like the song quite a bit, not a departure at all from the bands current sound.
The video is not bad, just that the girl's out of place, the landscapes are beautiful (just look a 0:22 for example...) and images have great quality, is just the girl who' doesn't fit, too much teen-gothic thing.

the bit that launches in around the 2:40 mark is fucking amazing. video sucks however.
