The first song "Lonely Rolling Star" starts off with the girl promising to wait for the guy as the wanderlust in him pushes him away from her. She's scared yet optimistic, telling the guy to keep moving and never give up. The second song "Sayonara Rolling Star" the two decide to say goodbye with the girl saying "Our joined hands are little by little coming apart". Even so she still hasn't given up hope. Then finally, the story reaches its conclusion with "Lonely Rolling No More". The two finally live their lives together, and we finally hear the guy sing to show that he indeed came rolling back to her.

The singer (Saki Kabata) lost a singer-songwriter friend (Shimizu Kazuhiko) to an accident in January that year, recorded Lonely Rolling Star a few months after it for the Katamari Damacy soundtrack, and didn’t have activities for the first part of that year (2004). It was written by Yoshihito Yano though (who’s still active too :> )

I can clearly hear the similarities (vocals) but they are both so fresh in unique ways (vibe,atmosphere). Props to the musicians behind this. I also hope for an happy ending where the couple dont divorce by personal reasons until death or something (as a result, keeping a warm feeling from the bystander's point of view which in this case is me)

@@Protomage_199 Well no, what he's saying is the lyrics are about a love story across the three songs of a woman waiting for her love to return after he, struck by wanderlust, leaves on an adventure. The first is her being scared but sending him off and wishing well, the second is her feeling them grow apart but looking onward, and the final one, thus one, is them reuniting. At least that is what I've been told I don't speak much Japanese.

Imagine this; when a katamari is turned into a star, all of the people and objects on the katamari are magically replaced back onto Earth, returning to their daily lives. This might be why you can replay all of the levels with everyone still there.
