You got the wrong idea about the right knob though. It's the contrary on those reels.

I got gifted 2 kastking reels while I was over in the USA I heard bad things about them but to be honest I love the rover 60 took some getting used but got mine dialled in just right 😊

Thanks for that review. I have a used 60L I got off of fleabay a couple weeks ago, so I haven't had chance to use it a lot yet. I actually plan on doing some customization, starting with the addition of a mag brake and a single handle, maybe removing the level wind. I might also do something with the inner face of the end cap liners to help prevent line getting into the gears, because you are not the first user I have seen write about that issue. I don't like a thumb bar, either. Nor do I like a button. Sometimes they don't pop back up. I prefer the lever like on the general purpose Penn reels such as my favorite, the 209. But honestly that is about the only reason for me to dislike it, so far. Well, and not already having an adjustable magnetic brake. I actually like the 60 enough, so far, to have ordered a pair of brand new 40L's, for mostly freshwater use such as bass fishing. I have used my 60 so far only for lake fishing, i.e. if you call the Pontchartrain Sea a lake. Getting pretty good casts out of it, and I hope to use it as a light surf fishing reel, too, with my 209's as my heavy beach artillery. The 60 is just a little heavy for freshwater bassing, IMHO, and I like to use basically the same baitcaster outfit for both bass and catfish. I agree, the 6500 C3 Ambassador is a very nice reel in that size range, I just can't justify the cost, so I don't own one. And I don't find the other budget brands to be as good as the KastKing brand, in general.

For a budget reel it's hard to beat the kastking but I find a lot of ambassador c3 reels at garage sales for 30 and 40 dollars so I usually try and snatch them up. Good luck with your kastking reels and good luck with the fish 👍👍👍
