As canadians we should embrace the native culture much more. There is an authencity to it that is lost in pop western culture

im an "indigenous native aboriginal that brown people we found" person. and we dont mind either name. we like any race as were all apart of earth. also shut up about this "idleNoMore" shit. that was embarrassing. got so many native women killed, raped and kidnapped.

Been living in Texas for 20 years. This is where I was born and grew up, this is where I'm from, the North Shore of Quebec. I feel very connected to the Innus even though I'm caucasian. This is where I'm from, these are my brothers. Kashtin. This is a great song. And what a talent, Claude McKenzie and Florent Vollant.

Great post. I love how music unites people from all cultures. I grew up loving this song as a kid watching Much Music. I had zero clue what they were saying but I could certainly feel their pride and passion. Great music and great culture. One Love.

Had a dream, we were headed to the trap line. My mother sitting beside my father. Kashtin playing on the radio. My father encouraging us to sing. So, my sisters and I would sing with whatever we could. My sisters don't sing anymore. My parents split, but this song came back in a strange dream I had last night. Replaying a scene when I was truly happy... almost 30 years ago now.

This native group, coming from Newfoundland/Labrador, were very important to me as a Canadian coming from Europe. It was the one of the first time that the native people expressed their music in modern trends. Kashtin were the forerunners of the group "The Tribe called Red" situated in Ontario, Canada. "Kashtin" was the first modern native group to help to introduce native culture, music to non-native people, like me. I still love Kashtin but unfortunately this group does not exist anymore.
