This was her first major hit, and ironically it was written in response to the record industry and radio largely ignoring her because she didn’t fit into the stereotype of a “pretty”, pouting female artist. I’m always looking for good music. Thank you.
I first heard this song on an Australian horror movie called the loved ones about a psycho girl was takes revenge on guys that reject her. On a side note you should do asmr videos as your voice is so relaxing to listen to 😂

Great reaction, what a wise woman you are,you mentioned societal training a mine field for conversation!on that note you absolutely must listen to Rens track "Dominoes",it is a bit emotional but centres around societal training!,❤x

@@redheadedneighbor it certainly is, however I'm glad I watched the studio version and not the live performance as you did,yes it's the same song, but for me the studio version hit 100 X harder, check it out privately if you don't wish to react to it again!x

@@redheadedneighbor ps,when can we all expect your reaction to Rens trilogy?x
Don't feel bad that you didn't know her, she is a legend in Australia and in the ARIA Hall of Fame, but she is criminally underexposed her in the US. Her claim to fame before Lose Yourself was having the song the Captain in the Sopranos.
multiple meanings, like many good songs... one a professional disappointment at some record companies not accepting her image rather than listen to her lyrics.

So often the case
She wrote this song, as an ode to the USA, music marketing executives. It was NOT self reflection. It was giving the middle finger to the U.S. music industry. FACT. C.T. Australia.

Brilliant. So many of the artists on my channel have a catalog of “ middle fingers to the record labels”. It is an exhausting and sad industry. Go Kasey!
