Karting Equipment You Will Need

Спорт

#motorsport is dangerous, so you need to make sure you are wearing the proper safety equpiment.
This video isn't designed to be a definitive guide, rather a starting point to help you with your research. Hopefully it's useful.
The requirements for motorsports other than Karting may be different.

    I'm sure I'm defending fiercly. That's the hope, I have benefitted from lots of videos on other subjects/hobbies that talk about what you need for them, so hopefully someone will find this useful.

    What about seat inners?

    I’m assuming you are interested in rental karting as opposed to owner/driver. For Club100, I use an old imaf seat from many years ago when I was doing owner/driver racing. I cut the bottom out of the seat and attached a strap which runs under my legs to avoid it lifting. I also added some adhesive foam to the external of the seat for a snug fit in the XL Tillett seats that Club100 use. For me, the seat is fine, but doing the same with a Tillett seat would probably provide an even better fit. I’d also recommend sanding and finishing any edges that you cut to avoid unnecessary wear to your suit. Hopefully that answers your question.

    Are you sponsored by the companies on your race suit or just brands you use?

    So, some of the logos are to do with the sponsors of Club100 as a series; there’s no requirement to use them, but I felt it helped make the suit look more professional. Prestanda NOMAD is the sim racing team who I race for. Then on the left arm are a selection of charities that are important to me and I wanted to provide them some extra exposure where possible.

    What colour is the visor on your blue helmet ?

  • @DownToRace

    @DownToRace

    It’s the blue multilayer (light smoke). Be aware that prices for visors have gone up quite a bit over the past few years. I remember getting mine for less than £100 and they are now ~£150. It may be worth waiting for a sale if time isn’t of the essence.

    @@JACKSTAR-nd4ig From my perspective, the tint to objects isn't distracting, but I wouldn't advise wearing it in dark conditions. From an external perspective unless a light is being shone or directed directly toward the visor it is quite close to opaque. The post I've attached is from a very sunny day at Rye House last year: instagram.com/p/Ct_0gO0NwkK/?img_index=1
