Karlovy Vary is located about 106 kilometres (66 mi) west of Prague.
-The most valuable church is the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene. It is a Catholic church, built in the Baroque style in 1732-1736 on the site of an old Gothic church from the second half of the 14th century.
-Among the most famous buildings of the city is the Church of Saint Peter and Paul. It was built in the Byzantine style in 1893-1897.
-The geyser of the Hot Spring is in a separate pavilion and it gushes to a height of up to 12 metres.
-The richly carved wooden Tržní kolonáda (Market Colonnade) was built in Swiss style according to the design of highly reputed Viennese architects Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer between the years 1882 and 1883.
The original Zámecká kolonáda (Castle Colonnade) was built between the years 1910 and 1912 in Art Nouveau style according to the design of Viennese architect Johann Friedrich Ohmann.
-The stone Mlýnská kolonáda (Mill Colonnade) was built in Pseudo-Renaissance style according to the design of distinguished Czech architect Josef Zítek between the years 1871 and 1881.
-Funicular - Diana Observation Tower in Karlovy Vary.
The funicular has been transporting spa guests from the colonnade to Diana for more than 100 years. The lower station is located next to Grandhotel Pupp in Mariánské Lázně.
The funicular runs every 15 minutes and its maximum capacity is 40 persons. The ride through the spa woods up to Diana takes approx. 3 minutes and on your way, you may admire the marvellous view of Karlovy Vary.
The funicular leading to the top of the hill was built in 1909.
The grand opening of the new observation tower took place on 27 May 1914.
