How come you only teach girls how to code? Do you think guy not smart to code? Sexest.

I have so much respect for her not just wanting to be a pretty face, even when modeling is her angle stone, she decided to do something good with her platform! Helping girls to get a useful skill set. Say what you want but to me that's an excellent role model.

I know this is obvious to point out considering she's a model and was a ballerina but my God she has flawless posture

She is just an amazing role model, more people need to know about her.

I only knew Karli Kloss from the wix adds and I thought she was a model getting paid for an add job. thank you for opening my eyes to this woman's mission and depth.

She's amazing!! She was a victoria's secret model and is so into coding. She just ran in the nyc marathon last month. She is so inspiring!!

I love Karlie. Saw her speak live at the Cannes lions festival and she is so impressive. And beautiful, obviously.

Man, what is it with all the geek jealousy/hostility in these comments? She never said she was some kind of code expert. She just said she was fascinated by it, and I got the impression she wants to learn more. Because that's what intelligent people do. So guys, get over it. Not only is her intelligence equal to or superior to yours, the degree to which she is too cool and attractive for you is increasing exponentially as you read this...

Ron Wolf I don’t get why you have to be negative. She’s made millions per year in modeling enough to not to care, it’s cool to me because she is willing to learn, and guides her admirers to do the same.

Not being negative, I respect what she's doing, I just don't get why everyone's infatuated with her. I think there are better female role models we could be looking up to for this kind of thing.

I wish people were more like her. She is such a Beautiful human being.

I went to film school - they actually showed us Finding Nemo for story structure 😂

She seems interesting and appears to be more than just a pretty face. Nice to see once in a while, lol.

I went to one of her tapings! Really cool girl. Interesting to see somebody go through a crash course in hosting in front of a live audience!

She only runs and funds the camps, but I doubt she really knows how to code. She travels abroad way too often for Victoria Secret, Calvin Klein, Adidas etc.

Physics Girl was in a modelling competition in university, but she was also majoring in advanced Physics that I don't understand. Look doesn't necessarily tell you much about a person :)

Ray Wei She doesn't 'fund' it and she has a pretty good understanding of coding so I don't doubt she knows how to code even at a basic level. Also, she barely travels for Victora's Secret anymore. Don't be pessimistic.

KK is more of a promotor of CS education than an actual coder. If you want to see a supermodel who can actually code for a living, check out Lyndsey Scott. She actually developed her own iOS apps.

You don't have to do something better to have a negative opinion of her. What irks me is she learns some basic coding and self-proclaims herself as the role model for female coders. What a fucking joke. Coding is generally a tedious process and not something to market as "cool/trendy". From the way she described coding in this video, I could tell she probably doesn't know how to code beyond the basics.

Somehow I think not pure blonde (or with dark eyes and tan) looks better.

There are too much hate in the comments. Of course, Karlie has never admitted that she’s a pro in coding but the thing here is that she inspired people especially girls as coding for girls or women seem to be very odd. She has empowered them to follow their path, follow their own dreams because they realized that there are people who’s actually do the same thing like them. From that, create a platform for women to gain experience and develop themselves in an environment that they can work and make the most out of . In order for these camps to work then I think Karlie must hired professionals to help the girls because as a model now, she is still very busy with her work and also travel a lot. But anyway, she’s still inspired and empowered lots of people and that’s good enough for sure. She is the powerhouse now.

It's a talk show, not "introduction to coding 1on1". The point was showcasing that coding opens up and new world, not illustrating her combined knowledge on or about the subject. I presume she herself is a beginner. Respect what she is doing in helping girls get into a field dominated by men, instead of trying to belittle her for not getting to go into detail on a complicated subject on late night tv.

there's a middle ground that would be fine and sound less like she has no idea what she's talking about, and it involves saying literally anything besides, "it's a language and you can build anything," x2 in response to two different questions.

in fact, even that's wrong. "code" isn't a language. there's a lot more than one. i honestly feel like she just doesn't know how to answer seth's questions. she doesnt know how coding works (beyond "it's a language") and she doesnt know what apps, if any, the girls have made

She took "a class" and learned "code." Gosh I hope she's explaining it that way because she thinks no one else knows what "code" is. I'm pretty sure she's not the one teaching the girls...

Alice Piccola she didn’t just take a class she actually went to NYU and took a couple classes at Harvard. She doesn’t teach girls how to code because she’s too busy and there are actual teachers for that and also too many camps all over America but sometimes she comes to say hi and spends time with her girls, she also faceTimes them a lot.

Ok, but like, how do you explain computer coding to people who know nothing about it? If it were an expert in the subject and a person who codes for a living on the show, I doubt we would bat an eye at such a vague description. It's an entirely different language basically right from the start. It would be like someone trying to explain teaching Spanish- it's vague because the targeted audience wouldn't even understand the equivalent to "hola" in computer coding.

She's all about coding yet she uses Wix to build her website.

Umm for a second there you could make out that she's going over a script. I don't think she knows what's up as much as it seems.

This woman is all show and probably doesn't even know how to code beyond the basics and she's self-proclaiming herself as the woman who inspires other women to code. What a joke. If a woman wants to code, I respect that, but to pat yourself on the back for doing so is laughable

That dress is NOT flattering.

She knows as much about coding as Ivanka, her future sister-in-law, about working mum struggles - will truly fit into the Kushner family! Crazy thing is that people justify this by "if it inspires someone, it must be good", ignoring the damage the unrealistic expectations create. If you'd like to learn to code, there are some many communities (online and offline), many directed at girls that won't try to sell you latest lip gloss and a piece of overpriced clothing.
