    Hi Judy. I was wondering if you could provide your verdict on the SC3 after the elapsed time? Furthermore, would you recommend the SC4/SC5 having worked with the SC3 for some time now? I myself am planning on only cleaning a small tiled surface that leaves water streaks upon using a traditional mop, hence the SC4/SC5 seems like a bit of an overkill in my mind. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Another reviewer mentioned that you should hold the nozzle over a sink when you first use it to get rid of the water latent in the hose. Once steam comes through you are good to go again. However, if you stop using it to do something else, more water will condense in the hose and will will need to take the machine to a sink or bucket to empty that water. If not, you get the puddle you had.

    Great review! I just bought one and I’m trying to reset it to my water hardness. You didn’t mention that on your review. I happen to have a soft water filter, so not sure it’s so relevant. On the instructions it says to press the reset bottom until it flashes in order to choose the number,, but I can’t get it to start flashing. Any comments? Thanks!!

  • @ETSpeaksFromHome

    @ETSpeaksFromHome

    Push for 4 sec. I wont bother if you have soft water at home. If you have hard water esp in UK, the filter tends to clog with lot of limescales, so need to change filter very often. Anyway: The replacement intervals depend on the local water hardness. Areas with harder water (e.g. III/IV) have a shorter replacement interval than areas with softer water (e.g. I/II). Can you try Press the OFF switch to turn off the appliance. Remove the cartridge from the device. Insert cartridge into the device again Press the ON switch to turn on the appliance. Hold down the RESET button for 4 seconds. Then the indicator light "Replacement descaler cartridge" goes out and the operating time of the cartridge starts again. Allow the device to warm up. Then hold down the steam lever for approx. 30 seconds to bleed the cartridge.

    Hi, I would just like to know if the pressure on the Karcher steam cleaner is constant or does it loose pressure and then come back again? My current steam cleaner (not Karcher) will take some time and get very powerful and blast away the dirt and then all of a sudden will loose the pressure like it cuts out. When I first bought it I phoned the helpline for the company to get it sent back but they had said that all steam cleaners do that so therefore I kept it and don't use it that often as its not reliable.

I tie rubber band on the handle (i dun think/suggest u should do that) because I am so sick of pressing the lever on the handle. the pressure is very constant and it is on full pressure. do remember that when u first press it, a lot of water will flow out, so be careful.

    Your tap water might have too much limescale. The filter suppose to distill the tap water. Do you have a water filter? Maybe use filter water for your water tank. If you don’t want to have water mark, then mop it up. Personally I don’t need to mop it up at all. When the floor is dry, there is no water mark. I don’t understand your second question.

  • @ETSpeaksFromHome

    @ETSpeaksFromHome

    I'm not sure if you could it for that. The steam/water might rust the coil. This comes with half and full pressure. I think half pressure should work but again, I don't think this is suitable for air conditioning coil. The steam will blow the water into the coil, unless you have vacuum the dust and you are able to air dry your coil properly. I recently use it in my bathroom which is full of Mould, I used full pressure round brush to clean it and it worked and removed most of the Mould except those in the sealent. Tiles were quite wet.

    +Eileen Teo (ET Speaks From Home) Thanks for the reply. Water and rust is not an issue on air condition because currently water under pressure is being used to clean air condition coils. In fact steam cleaning will be using less water. The issue is whether its effective enough

  • @ETSpeaksFromHome

    +Yee Fook Keong Oic.i have not seen the coil before, I doubt the steam will work properly. The round / board brush that I used, is not strong enough to get rid of all the mould even it is on full pressure on tiles. Maybe it will clean the surface of the coil but not deep in. Hope this help. The pressure on full is roughly 15cm, can't be sure.

    Not easy to use on carpet as the terry cloth on the floor nozzle will keep coming off, I would not recommend That in carpet. As for rug, you could use the hand nozzle to steam it.

    The water is running thru the system/pipe hence lot of water come out before it turn into steam. It is best to run it for a few seconds in the sink before you start using it.

    Yes, in my video, you can see the black filter is where i pour the water. Change it half or a year. Depend on your water. I use filter water, so I don’t need to change the filter so often. You can’t clean the filter. You have to buy it thru the karcher shop. نعمه ديال

    I bought the sc3 yesterday and used it to clean my kitchen. Very disappointed. After using it, the surface is still oily.

  • @ETSpeaksFromHome

    @ETSpeaksFromHome

    8 жыл бұрын

    Yes, it won't remove any old oil stain. This is also the same with my morphy Richard steam cleaner. It is seem to be the same with all brands. Any old oil stain, it is hard to remove. This is best to use it immediately after each oily cook to have the best effect. This is good to soften the oil stain, then u can use chemical spray to spray on the oily surface and to remove it more easily.
