It is one of the best martial arts if not the best. Not as picturesque as some Chinese styles, but the technique is dramatically efficient.

So in the japan, the Shotokan are not more useful than in French. Irrealistic movements and fake martial art again. This style is lost in my opinion, or this need a reboot... 😢

@@burntrim Realistic moves, KO combats, real sparrings, polyvalence in all distances because old martial arts was large. Take the exemple of old traditionnal jujutsu japanase : i have found an video in old Tournament in 1995. And you want to know ? This seems mixte between judo and MMA : good throws like judo, wrestling and MMA, good Newaza and striking (atemis). This is what japanase jujutsu traditionnal must to be. And for Karate i have found old Tournament with KO combats and good moves for striking, good Karate, not the bad Shotokan and useless we have. That is MARTIAL ART my friend ✌👍 In my case i have leave judo and fake martial art and i practice MMA and in the 2nd, the original judo / old jujutsu japanase traditionnal adapted in MMA and i am happy to found a teacher for teach this. The real martial art, it is good and fun ^_^

@@yohannschroo5644 You seem like a nice chap, I mention this only so we understand one another. I'm not here to have a go at you. But I disagree. I don't class MMA as a martial art, I view it as pure violence. Each to there own, nobody is forced to do it and some get paid. A martial art in my view isn't just about fighting, it's about wellbeing, keep fit, understanding your own body as much as any one else's. It's not boring, it doesn't involve weights or equipment or miles and miles of running. It requires mental activity. I can practise Karate sitting in a chair! And I do when I feel lazy. It's for the old and young. I wouldn't study Karate if I was competing in MMA or any of the traditional martial arts. I think I would concentrate on simple techniques, power and stamina, wrestling, boxing, kick boxing. I have no wish to compete or try MMA, never have. Ultimately, it comes down to the individual. Not everybody wants to be the best fighter in the world, just enough to get by would be nice, keep me reasonably fit and still interesting

@@burntrim I can't agree with you and i think it is like that the martial art lost their origins : you attack MMA about violence. At this point you have reason, then we strike the head of the Guy in the ground fighting it is violent i cannot deny. But just one thing : in standard training of MMA their are at first, LIGHT sparring, like Boxing, we never met you in cage or Ring your first Day for fight in KO. MMA you know i practice in 2 clubs. You said MMA has nothing about martial art but i can said my 2nd club it is an club of judo original and old traditionnal jujutsu japanase adapted for MMA and you know what ? I have discover this ancient jujutsu and the MMA are the same sport, except better throw more like judo and different guard and blocking techniques, and in strike it seem more Karate Wado than boxing. But in global, this jujutsu is MMA... So i cannot agree with you when you opposite MMA and martial art for this exemple, i can say this jujutsu is MMA before him (guillotine and double leg was there first MMA 👍). For Karate it is different, it is long talking. But you know some styles was like MMA. Look Karate Shidokan for exemple : it is Karate Kyokushinkai's MMA Version 👍 For old traditionnal Karate to Okinawa for once i am agree with you : it is completely different of MMA But it is very hard striking and KO fighting. And martial art to me, must realistic for stay martial art, i dont want hard sparring every Day but i dont want striking in the wind every time, that's all... ✋
