A great bowler, a great fielder, a great fighting batsman........ All in one. Mr.Kapil Dev Ramlal Nikhanj. Who can forget his knock of 175* in 1983 World Cup when Indians were struggling at 17 for 5?? Who can forget his Test Century on a dangerous Durban track while the entire team collapsed against the raw pace & bounce of Allan Donald? Who can forget his backward running catch of the dangerous Vivian Richards in the 1983 World Cup Final game? A true Alrounder..... Years & decades rolled, but still India is not able to find a complete Alrounder like Kapil Dev. Definitely, we can never witness another one like him considering the present plastic game of cricket.

@@simofernandes7465 Because he is not getting along well with the present set of BCCI bosses... BCCI is forgetting its roots.... Once upon a time, they didn't even have money to pay the salary for its World Cup winning players (750 rupees per player), players had to pay their hotel room and food charges. Because of people like Kapil Dev, cricket became popular in India. Because of these players, BCCI is what it is today. But the present set of half-baked BCCI bosses are acting like Big Bosses. Till Jagamohan Dalmiya was alive, old players were treated very well. Because those old BCCI bosses knew what is what, as they had seen both the difficult & good times....

We lived in Kapil era. .I played at clubs and university level. Know cricket not just by watching but also by playing. Apparently no other bowler until now, that India has produced and in may ways even at world level come close to Kapildev. There were 4 great contemporaries in 80s and early 90s - Kapil, Imran Khan, Richard Hadlee and Ian Bottham. These 4 guys were a team inside a team. They could single handedly turn the match around. It was an era of quintessential and pure pristine cricket. The show downs between/ amongst these contemporary stalwarts were eagerly awaited and relished. It was a totally different cricket those days- less on quantity and but great in respect of quality and content. I belong to that era Gavaskars, Kapils, Solkars, Bothams, Imrans, Hadlees, Lillees and Thomsons.

Yes but he held grudge against Mumbai players and still does while everyone respects him. This when Mumbai not just won Ranji Trophy continuously number of times but offered selectors many players who could play in the National Team yet for some reason there seems to have been a bureaucratic dictat to pick players from North. Yet he held a grudge. So much so that till the time Sehwag didn't establish himself he called Tendulkar great but once Sehwag scored a triple he cited that as a reason for Tendulkar not being great. That's the kind of jealousy North Indians hold in every sphere of life.

Just proud of him because he faced the real batsman of the world like richards, loyd, border, gatting, miandad and many others. Todays cricket is full of drama and the less talented cricketers are acting very well in every occasion while missing any simple delivery, become out in a simple delivery, missing a simple catch made it too tough to catch. Kapil Dev is always Kapil Dev, todays Cricket is fully acted by the Actors, script of which is written by the multinational companies who are sponsored of BCCI.

Kapildev was an outstanding fielder.coming at 6down in middle order he use to make runs fast.on maximum times he did not had proper support of bowling from the other end and he bowled on dead Indian pitches.he took 200wickets within 50test matches only... just after which he slowed down due to knee injury.he was truly a match winner

Fast bowling ko khelney key liye sirf jigra chaahiye aur kuch nahi. Lekin swing to khelneykey liye skill, techniquetemperament, eyesight aur footwork chaahiye . Kapil ek swing bowler they. Mushkil he swing ko khelna.

I just cant help wonder how can one generate pace from such an easy non stressful action such as that. It's just pure wrist work at the time of release if you carefully observe. All the inswing outswing and reverse from that one nano second of release.
