It takes a bit of time to turn a defender. Our team had three players who were good at these moves. Without a good center player, we'd have one of the players with a weaker defender do the spin / turn move. Perhaps it draws an ejection and man up. But, it is also important to have all the other offensive players depart the area around the turning player. A turn on one player is good, but, you can't expect a good outcome if the other defenders are close. Give that player lots of room to do their battle, then allow for a drive into open water.

Super1196Vs While they are demonstrating at the center position, this video tip is important for any position. You can always turn a player if they are pressing close to you on the perimeter to gain an advantage.

Partially turning a perimeter defender may give you an opening where the defender cannot block your pass. Every player should work on this skill so that they can turn a defender at least 90 degrees with both hands. The key is keeping the turning elbow at shoulder height. Keep your legs up and eggbeater moving when you turn so that you can make another move (pass, shoot, seal, etc.)

All players have to learn how to play in every position. If you aren’t a center sometime during the game you will still be in that position and you have to know how to play there
