As someone who is not a major Kanye fan and also who is inclined to dislike him due to his obnoxious personality/ messiah complex/ madness... it's impossible to deny that this is just truly a great piece of progressive and abstract art. A bold stroke of genius, confidently executed with pure conviction. A master at work, totally in his element. Reeling us in and keeping us in his pocket and still in awe and discussing it years later. Damn.

redplague to be fair, most of the styles he "imitates" he makes, its kind if his thing. Styles used on his albums usually see big waves afterwards. He is largely responsible for revolutionizing the 808 bassline as it is used today. Artists usually copy his style, not the other way around. Doesn't mean he does it best, but he's usually the first.
@redplague

6 жыл бұрын
When I say 'producing' I don't mean as in a studio producer, I mean it in terms of creation. Yes he's good at putting the right samples together but in terms of creation it isn't his. I actually prefer this version so much more than the album version. It has more in emotion in it. The sample change doesn't sound to forced (first transition could've been better) and the dudes voice (I don't know his name sorry) is great. Also West's emotion and depth in his rapping reminds me of Late Reg and Dropout. He sounds like he's playing it for fun and his own entertainment, which makes it so much more better for the audience. when you see Kanye smile for a second on that "chickens" thing, he doesn't look like an asshole, I bet he's a cool in person, I mean if he were your friend or shit like that. you might think that his music is not great, but I think it is, in an unconventional manner, he is no Mozart but Mozart ain't no Kanye West either.
