    @853e5885ww8584w 85e8e5w84w4884w not entirely because If a trans person wants to fight they have to revert to their original identify seeing that trans women arent as strong compared to men who aren't on hormones simple it's not discrimination it's strategy and as for that recent thing, it's mostly just transition surgery that won't be covered by insurance

    I used to be homophobic too, just like my family. I sat next to a gay guy in 10th grade and we talked and it opened my eyes to realize that I was treating gay people like they weren’t human when they are literally just other people. I’m proud to say now that someone’s sexuality doesn’t matter to me, and I have sympathy for gay people and wish them all the best with discovering themselves and finding their place in the world.

    MadHatterx, anyone defending any marginalized group of people is remarkable and timeless - including the ones in the 60s and every era. And especially someone in the rap industry who could be stigmatized for it - even more so during the prime of Jay-Z, 50 Cent, TI, etc. in 2005. This was completely unheard of, and it was interviewed too. Idk bout you, but to me, that’s legendary.

    Or maybe it's because Kanye thinks he is a god (his own words, repeatedly). Or maybe it's because because he stormed the stage at the VMAs and ruined Taylor Swift's moment, or maybe it's because he consistently makes an ass out of himself. There's plenty of reasons to hate on Kanye, even if he had this one small moment of redemption. Don't act like the resentment towards him is undeserved.

    Kanye has countless moments of "redemption" he does what we all think, and is bashed for it. Taylor swift has benefited greatly as you can see from that event, so it's not like she's in poverty somewhere. While he does "make an ass out of himself" he's showing you how raw a unfiltered a person can be and still get out their dreams. He's all for the little man getting his success at the end of the day, and he brings himself up with his arrogance because that's all he ever had. You either love him or hate...don't talk like you know him.

  • @askesis

    @askesis

    8 жыл бұрын

    I don't talk about him like I know him, I just know what he has done in the public for the world to see. Yea, he's raw and unfiltered; I never accused him of being fake. Are you actually justifying him crashing Taylor's speech because it didn't kill her career? That seems to be what you are implying. And I vehemently disagree with the notion that "he does what we all think." I, for one, certainly don't think like he does, so that disproves that point right there, and I'm going to take a risk and go out on a limb and say I'm not the only one. Kanye WAS a homophobe, he admitted it himself. And if one of his family members didn't just so happen to be gay, he would almost certainly still be a homophobe today. He chose to see things differently because he didn't feel like he should hate his family. But I'm not even trying to hate on him about this instance, because realizing his mistakes late is better than never realizing them; I'm hating on him for all the other stupid shit he says and does.

There's a reason why so many people are disappointed and sad to see him spew the type of hatred he's spewing right now: it's because he didn't used to be like that. @@kiramaticc Honestly, I had a friend that took the same path - he was a really smart guy, but was troubled in a lot of ways: his dad had killed himself when he was like 20, and then he got hit by a car while riding his bike and was in the hospital for like six months doing rehab, almost died, etc. The last few years he started to legitimately get into stuff like "pizza gate" and other obviously stupid "far right" conspiracy garbage - stuff in the past you'd never think he'd get into and was too smart for. The problem with someone in that state of mind is if you try to push back on it - even just trying to rationally and calmly debate - they seem to just take it as further evidence you're one of the "sheep" or whatever, so they just double down even more. As someone who's autistic and seeing more and more people using that word as an derogatory very much like how 'gay' was used (especially now that the 'R-word' is less commonly accepted as an insult these days), I wholeheartedly agree. It makes me feel less than human when I see something that's a part of me that I can't even control used to put people down or just say that something is stupid and bad, but I've grown up with that sort of thing, so I'm somewhat used to it. What worries me is that as "autistic" sees more common usage as a synonym for something bad, younger people will grow up ashamed of what they are, feeling like they somehow did something wrong just by being born as they were. When I was a kid, people were exactly as Kanye describes here and trying to fit in, I adopted that same offensive language, calling things 'gay' and the aforementioned R-word (phrasing it as such so KZread doesn't get mad at me). But I stopped talking like that once I realized that it negatively impacts real people and I didn't want to hurt people who did nothing wrong. It took a minute to change my vernacular, but it wasn't that hard. When I speak up about this, people tell me I'm being too soft or sensitive. Just like with homophobia, that criticism is rooted in this unrealistic standard of masculinity that doesn't allow room for feeling compassionate for others. Yeah, I'm sensitive. It's better than being insensitive, so I don't see how it's a bad thing. Not being cruel to each other (especially to those who don't deserve it) is the bare minimum and it should be the standard.

    I didn't know about that, but that's actually really sweet (though it should be the standard, so it's sad that it comes as a surprise in the first place). I wish more people had that mentality. People are so quick to be close-minded and ridicule what they don't understand or what challenges their preconceived notions of what's socially acceptable, but that's no way to live. That's why it's so refreshing to see people like Kanye using their platform to spread compassion and simple understanding. It's also what drew me to bands like Flobots and Rage Against the Machine, who tried to spread similar messages in that time period and tried to call out bigotry in the music industry and hip-hop in particular. Looking at it now, we've certainly come a long way since then, with some of the biggest artists being LGBTQ+ and allies.

    He's awesome, his issue, wich a rapper named TI brought up is Kanye is so removed from certain realities he some times takes sides with things without realizing what it is. Don't care what your Trump opinion is, but, TI challanged Kanye and Kanye said "I don't know his policies i like his persona, he like me" and TI said but Kanye, you are hurting people and he responded "What!? Im hurting people?" There's an breakfast club interview with TI where he goes on and talks about a 4 hour long debate with Kanye. The interviewer also revelaed that Kanye texted him saying "Am i hurting people?" and that's why in 2019 he denounced Trump on a Forbes interview. Kanye is sweet, if you ever been to one of his shows where he always rants for like 20 minutes, you can tell he's like a clueless genius with good intentions. And im also so Glad you know about his ventures!

Just like his music, Kanye was never afraid to push the envelope and say what he truly believed, unlike some artists in the industry whose ideals and moral are dictated by media and corporations. Its never late to open your eyes and accept people for who they are, but it's obvious when someone like Kanye speaks from the heart and when a mainstream artists just regurgitate what everyone else is saying, with no critical thinking of their own.

    It’s crazy how he shifted. How do you go from trying to build up your community in your home town, showing black people they can be successful and fighting against homophobia in the hip hop industry BACK IN 2005, an issue that’s only now seeing a shift and then go and spit in the face of all of that by straight up praising one of the most awful people on the planet and saying all these terrible things, trying to tear down communities instead of building them up.

    He found Christ and figured it all out. The "new" Ye would still condemn the anti-homosexual lyrics of hip hop because it comes from a place of degeneracy (glorification of "thug" culture) rather than a Christian perspective of helping people achieve salvation. If you are rapping about the evils of homosexuality while still talking about "banging ho's", killing people, and getting in the drug game you are still very much on the wrong track. Only Christ can provide a unified and cohesive world view and Ye finally realized that and is now walking the correct path.

    To those that wasn't alive then or really young then, that was a really bold statement. In my opinion, until gay marriage was legal and you seen more gay people in TV shows last decade, the 00s was brutal. Coming out the closet was a big deal. I went through that exact scenario Kanye's talking about. I wasn't about to hate my cousin, so all that blinded hatred died down to me. Idk why it takes for a family member to come out for people to see that being gay is just a love interest preference. Though I'm glad we're progressing as a society and learning slowly but surely to mind our fucking business

    Kanye West's is one of the most tragic stories of our time. The guy is a musical genius and a genuinely good person and only thing bigger than his intellect was his ego but his mother kept his ego in check for him. Keeping him grounded. Ever since her demise, he has been on the downward spiral and now I think he hit the rock bottom . He has lost everything. His fans, family, friends, empire, reputation, every single thing. His ego picked out every single good thing and ruined it for him.
