Yes that was a foolish move. He could have done something to it like the Rick Owens but it doesn’t even feel creative but it also feels way too obvious. Maybe he was making a statement

I used to wanna pursue a career in music so I'm gonna answer the question of inspiration from that perspective. Inspiration; in my opinion, is when a creative opens your eyes to new possibilities through his art. The art is fresh, it delights you or challenges your thinking (whatever). So inspiration comes for me, when I say, "This artist went down unchartered territory and showed me what exists beyond these boundaries. What can I create when I go eastwards as opposed to the west direction that he took? What melodies can I use that he didn't sing? etc"

Yes I feel like giving credit and adding your own visions to whatever you are working on is the best way to go about. I also have this theory about the whole Kanye drama. I think he is looking for a way out of adidas and doesn’t really need them anymore. Yeezy has literally it’s own identity at this point and even adidas it is going to prosper.

I personally believe so Adidas has been making copy of yeezy for years ( since the tubular vs Yeezy 350 days). Why suddenly ?

Kanye owns 100% of yeezy. Adidas product and distributes the shoes.
The Adida versions look way better actually
