I am seeing this classic after 71 years since it was made. Lee van cleef looked so suave and younger, even Jack Elam looked so fragile even in his younger days. What a change from suave look to the ruffians in western movies ! Delightful movie really enjoyable.

Lee Van Cleef was 27 years old in 1952 he was born in 1925, my father date of birth is also 1925. I saw him first time in extra roll.

Maravilhoso ! Simplesmente maravilhoso! Lee Van Cleef atua neste suspense, antes de virar mega astro de filmes de cowboy! Do tempo em que filme de suspense, não tinha nada a ver com filme de terror, como nos dias de hoje; onde misturam tudo ! Nada de chacina, gente cortando gente e muito sangue ! Não, nada disso! Mas simplesmente um excelente enredo, onde a história é sempre fascinante e o final é sempre bom ! Parabéns por postar um filme assim !!!

Lee Van Cleef was definitely underrated. Superb in anything he did. Evil made skin crawl good made you just want to melt into his arms. But he really ran the midline, never quite knew what he was no matter what movie he was in he might be good five minutes later he was killing somebody. Yet he was a pleasant man everybody said was a nice man so I guess basically he was the average guy. Perfect for the American Western and especially for American genre. We will miss character actors like him. All the new ones sound alike their voices lacking the dialect of where they grew up and their faces lacking difference. They all want to look like the most current star instead of themselves. It's hard to tell them apart unless you really are sucked into the world of social media. But when one was able to just watch them on the screen and really get to know them through their characters one really allowed them to be an actor and hopefully for a few of them they had a private personality they could call all their own.

I agree wholeheartedly that was one of the very best endings I've ever seen in a Noir film or any film... I was really bracing myself for the worst at the end..

Noir Score: 7.3/10 great acting, action, compelling and intricate plot, great characters, great cinematography, hot damsels, makes me feel better about smoking cigarettes, over all winner!

I had to switch to CAMEL non-filters after watching this twice.

Interesting/informative/entertaining. Especially enjoyed watching 👀 the young actor's whom went on to flourishing careers into the 60's/70's & so forth. Along with the automobiles/clothing/Mexican resort/juke box/cash regester. Of that era. My 2nd viewing of this movie 🎥.

Wow I just watched this last night in black and white and I could’ve watched in color this whole time? Damn

Indeed. Payne did really well leading another noir, 99 River Street. He played an ex fighter, caught up in urban foul play. Nifty film, as is this one.
