A very honest man, a governor appoints whom to work with, Sanusi respectfully left Kano when ex gov. Ganduje didn't want him, but Bayero is been used by FG and Ganduje to cause problems in Kano

This historian is great and honest. I love his analysis and sincerity. My only VERY GREAT CONCERN and WORRY is that, the HAUSA people's rightful throne has been forcefully stolen on the basis of religion, and that the not so many of them, especially the CHRISTIANS are always been marginalized just because they are not Muslims. Unfortunately, there is even such a claim that there are no Christians of Kano state origin. I wish this Professor in his honest analysis will CONFIDENTLY come out and tell the truth about this reality and publicly condemn the activities of those Muslims carrying out Da'awa right in the houses and even on the compounds of the churches of those Christians, and sometimes, even on Christmas Day.

Our stupid politicians are responsible for most of the problems we are facing today. Ganduje made this mess when he was the governor and never thought of the implications. He dethroned Sanusi for criticizing him. What a joke and shameful dictator. He probably thought he would be in power forever, but he is now politically useless. There are people in Nigeria that should never be allowed in public office. Ganduje is one of them. Shameful useless dictator.

There is no crises whatsoever in Kano, everybody is going about his normal business, but some desperate ppl are planting trouble in the State, the Long run plan is to generate widespread crises to enable them put a State of emergency. They want to get what they lost through the ballot box.

One of the reasons again why we in the South south and south east don't wanna be part of Nigeria. Enough with all the mess and power tussle. Why was Sanusi removed in the forst place. And the governor had not right to do that in the first place. Removing a traditional ruler in favour of another just because you dont like what the other one said.

Prof i"m not with you in your last comment as in your opinion, police Commissioner should just follow the governors order as against the Court order. Peace of the State is more important than the order of one, called the Governor.

The conquest of the emirate system must be viewed in the same way as the colonisation of Nigeria by the British. It has no place in 2024 and as such, those who subscribe to it should understand that they are present day instruments for the enslavement of their people except where there is free will adherence and all acts of intimidation, compulsion and violence is abolished.

It’s amazing to see how unintelligent the interviewers. They were told that the Kano emirate was established by Islamic jihad which is a religious conquest THAT UNDERMINED EXISTING TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS at the time and interestingly, are now calling themselves traditional institutions rather than a religious order ??? The interviewers have been unable to query this in 2024😅. This is why Nigeria is in dilemma due to this clash of civilisations. The emirate system must give way to democratic institutions and governance as both cannot operate together at the same level. This problem also can be seen at the national level where loyalties are divided making it difficult for the nation to move forward. This makes a good argument for the implementation of the report of the constitution assembly of the Jonathan administration that calls for true federalism. This will allow regions to generate their own economic prosperity and relevance in the twenty first century

Absolutely. Kano emirate predated danfodio Islam jihad. Even the the emireship is counted only from that jihad which is very wrong because the emirate had been in place for more 800yrs even before the jihad.

The institution of leadership is all about the people, what are the input of the people in this matter of kano emirate? What lade to the deposition of Sanusi as Emir? Yes Ganduje deposed him as a governor whose right it is to do so but was there not contravention of law by sanusi that caused his removal?
