Is it heating too much? Hd wont work- as it needs extra power to run the disk, which is not supported by Iphone/Ipad port. How is the build quality like?

heating is not too much, but it is definitely there. and hard disk isn't getting recognized but pen drives work flawlessly. build quality is good.
once data from pen drive through that adapter copied to iphone is it possible to delete them on phone.
