This series is amazing. It's not a BL but they have so much tension that it definitely is a BL in my opinion. The actors do an amazing job..the soundtrack and everything about it is such a masterpiece!.

i love the devil judge its probably the best kdrama ive ever seen its not a bl but theres a lot of sexual tension that it might aswell be a bl in disguise imo lmao. this and the untamed are the two shows i recommend people to watch the most its just so good and has you on the edge of your seat each episode

This series is AMAZING! The plot, the charachters, the chemistry the soundtrack filmography etc. Everything.

The older gentleman is played by the actor Ji Sung and he is soooooo sexy. UNREASONABLY sexy. I've been watching his dramas/movies since like 2006-7 and the way he exudes confidence and sex appeal has only gotten stronger as he's aged. Like a fine wine. This show "The Devil Judge" is not a BL but it is worth it just for Ji Sung. He's so good just on a pure acting performance level. The chemistry he has with Park Jinyoung is 🔥. Their relationship is very ambiguous and open to interpretation. Just know that it is a fairly dark and complex show, so the relationships in the show will also be dark and complex as well.

Yes! The Devil Judge is a binge-worthing show, I'm so glad you're reacting to one of THE best edits for this show imo 😎 Also, the main actors have a 17 year age gap 🤯and I find that soooo fascinating bcuz if I didn't look up their ages, I would have never guessed. They have such great chemistry together, bless the Casting Director and the writer for this show! Love the video!

Honestly, it is very similar. Gaon throughout the entire thing is being manipulated and Yohan is one of the ones manipulating him- the only difference is that Yohan decides very quickly that losing Gaon means losing entirely and he hasn't spent years planning just to lose it all because he loses Gaon. But throughout the entire thing, Yohan is manipulating Gaon and is actually the only one to be upfront about the fact that he is. To me, the issue between the characters is emotion vs logic. Gaon is a VERY emotional character. He's self-sacrificing and naive when it comes to the world he's entered and he plays the game thinking everyone plays fair. Yohan, on the other hand, is logical and kind of cruel. He cuts his losses when he can and his endgame is to win no matter what. He views the world with pessimistic, yet honest eyes and he doesn't bother trying to hide what he's doing because he doesn't need to. It's super interesting and it's a fun dynamic as Yohan attempts to make Gaon see his point of view all while Gaon makes Yohan a little more human.

It's not a bl drama but it still one of my favorite drama after seeing hundreds of it. I recommand you to watch it. You won't regret it. It gives a bromance vibes.

PS: I don’t think people saying “this is not a BL” understand what BL is in Asia. Not every country can show explicit male-male relationships, but they can make it homoerotic without showing them making out on screen. In countries like Korea which is not just socially conservative and homophobic, but also very Christian, they don’t have the official government censorship like say China, they have cultural censorship (you can even see cultural censorship in US media come on guys). So in such a hyper Conservative country as Korea you will see BL that is more explicit only in the small creators/studio/platform offering such as the amazing, top tier Semantic Error but you will not see explicit BL on a mainstream TV station such as TVN. Not only did TDJ appear on platforms under the LGBT tag before the tag was removed 3 or 4 weeks in, but it won numerous awards including Bromance of the year (bromance in Asia doesn’t mean what in means in Anglo media - it means gay but coded, for eg the greats like The Untamed or Killer and Healer). Furthermore writer-nim, who I believe is also the director, has done interviews confirming that he tried to write UNgendered characters and that GaOn is the role usually given to the female co-lead. The Devil Judge is as queer as they come

This show is an ABSOLUTE masterpiece. They are literally husbanda AND have a daughter AND a cat. Plus, the whole theme, cinematography, osts, actors everything is spot on. I hope you end up watching it bcs its really up THERE.

It's not a BL unfortunately but yeah, the main characters do have a lot of chemistry. If I had to describe overall, Chinese BL even with the censorship have it all [great story, characters development, sets, plots, production], Thailand and Taiwanese BL are more demonstrative and daring as the LGBT representation is stronger in these countries [be beware of toxic relationships that are romantized in some of them], and Korean BL unfortunately is still undeveloped as most series just has few episode between 10-30 min each but the camera work, the characters are always deep and well-crafted. So KingPorshe is a nice start for a Thailand BL, The Untamed for a Chinese BL, and I you should ask if interested on patreon recommendations if you plan to watch a Korean BL.

Also queer baiting is a term made to describe Western media where creators and producers and investors have the choice to go all the way gay -no one is stopping them, there is no law against it, there are rights civil rights and LGBT protections and they still refuse to commit to telling queer stories properly and just tease audiences to make sure they tune in for the ratings but then do not deliver. That is what queer baiting is. It does not apply to Asia where media conditions, legislation and cultural prohibitions are vastly different

@@johnsthetic I don’t know how much more BL people needed it to be. There are porn BLs, there are romance BLs, slice of life etc. The creators meant it to BL and the actors delivered it as BL and it won BL awards. We just don’t see them have sex
