I don't think that Marlo was trying to say that her nephew got killed "BECAUSE" he worked at one of Kandi's (or should I say TODD'S ) Restaurants, I really listened to what Marlo was saying and her whole point was that Kandi wouldn't acknowledge the death of her nephew who was an employee of Kandi/Todd at one time. I mean really, common courtesy would have been to reach out to Marlo and her family. I mean, these girls are supposed to be friends and friends support you during difficult times and Kandi certainly acted like she didn't want to hear it when Marlo was at her house trying to talk to her about it. Also, I think the 23 year old stabbing comments need to be put to rest! I'm sure all these girls have things (worst than that) in their past that they don't want thrown in their faces repeatedly. So what I’m getting is that Marlo wants kandi to show some compassion too her nephews death and since he worked there it makes sense if she shows some kinda sympathy even if it didn’t hit Marlo yet as much mentally but she did bring it up too kandi as a friend that his life was taken - but I can see kandi is so focused on having a good girl image for all her businesses she don’t want no negativity too put her in the darkest light that she’ll be naive too things that’s obvious

Kenya and Marlo are the same person. They understood the assignment and carry the character of mean-spirited woman who loves playing victim and felt misunderstood everytime. The only difference - Kenya is slightly more soft and sensitive compared to Marlo.. so the girls and the audience will prefer her more.
