I bought a Deba knife from Kamata, in 2018. Very satisfying

I remember that feeling of buying a bad azz new japanese knife for work. So, so excited

Greatings from Australia. I also purchased a chef's knife for myself & my cousin. Superb quality, after 4 years of daily use it still looks like new. The shop offers great range of knives & staff is always more then happy to assist you. There's a knife for every budget. After you get Kamata knife you will realise how inferior other knives are. Thanks Kamata for a great knife.

This woman is so lovely that I would fall down trying to help her. The Damascus steel cutlery that is available in Japan is remarkable. I visited Tokyo in 2019 and bought a santoku knife in the Kappabashi district, and it is amazing. The cutlery in Japan is really remarkable.

LOL! Anyone else notice the magic in editing? He picks out what looks like a hand hammered san mai Yo Gyuto for her, then when he's customizing it; it becomes a wa Yanagiba, and transforms back when he brings it to her. How's he gonna engrave on hand hammered?

my takayuki hammered 16 layers gyuto like the one in the video got engraved...not custom but basically it said sakai takayuki knife...or something along the line so it is possible to do engraves on hammered

I stumbled across this video and noted that it was written and directed by Kamasami Kong. Back in the 70's there was a DJ in Hawaii I listened to as a kid named Kamasami Kong. Interesting that someone took his name and is using it.

Wow! I purchased 3 knives from Kamata 2012 September my vacation in Tokyo, they were really just like in this video helpful, nice people but I wish he reminded me that Deba I purchased was for left handed still I love this knife store

I bought a right handed Yanagiba long ago from a departmental store prior to knowing the difference between left and right handed knives. The grinded edge of a single bevel knife is always facing away from your hand :)

Is the woman who appeared in the video the "Hinomaru Lady"? She seems to really love Japan.

Last time I checked, kitchen knives are not illegal in the UK. Unless you're wielding it around, you should be okay.
