When you’re in a fight, adrenaline rushing, anxiety, usman won’t even feel his knees til the later rounds, and by then it doesn’t matter. the body is weird lol

His knee popped so sparring quickly ended after that last takedown. Usman tried playing it down but you can see that he is walking round gingerly on it and he will pull out the fight because of that injury.

Sportsmanship...both great men, good professional fighters

Love these events & fighters...but will have to say...Yoel's warmup/entertainment for the crowd was a special one...best amongst all I've seen. Kuddo's to all fighters that have to do this as part of contract etc...I can only imagine it must suck.

Usman can do it make no mistake. He has nasty power and some tricky combinations and a great jab. I dont think he can outwrestle Chimaev offensively but can possibly deal defensively with Chimaev and then aim for striking advantage or rather, that Chimaevs striking defense is a bit suspect. I still expect Chimaev to win though.

I agree, but to me, it all comes down to if his knees are really shot. If they are, he has screwed. If his knees are good, then I really believe he can win. If his knees are bad, he’s not going to be able to defend takedowns. Or punch hard. In that second fight with Leon to me it looks like his knees were just gone. So hopefully they have gotten back to normal. He did not look like his normal self in that second fight or I guess I should say third fight actually. The fights with Covington he was at his absolute best. If that version shows up khamzat is screwed.

I think in this fight, Usman can use his jab against the non-existent head movement of Khamzat. I think his wrestling will be good enough to counter Khamzat‘s. But as you say, we don‘t know how well his knees are and how the short notice affects him. I think he will be ready though. It‘s a grappler vs grappler matchup so I think there will be a lot of striking. I think this matchup almost certainly will be a banger.

Khamzat has better wrestling and power than Usman. He will win on the ground trust me. For Usman to win. It has to be standing and use the jab. Maybe a TKO or of chance KO. after what happened in the burns fight he will not want to get into a war with Usman. Unless usman is already beat. And if Usamans knees do give way, in a fight with Khamzat that can easily happen, It's a rap for him. The advantage is Khamzat. Anyone that is not a casual can see this.
