*Planning your own trip to Kamakura? Add these to your itinerary!
1. Get your daily steps in on one of Kamakura's many beautiful hiking paths.
2. Pass through the Hao-Hao Tunnel to access the city's many shrines!
3. Admire the many shrines and temples - there are 84 to choose from! (We saw 27?* major ones listed on the tourism map.)
4. Eat at one of the many local restaurants - Kamakura is known for it's seafood!
5. Go shopping and enjoy the lively Komachi Street.
6. Snack on some of Kamakura's delicious street food on Komachi Street.
7. Stop by Tsurugaoka Hachimangu. (we lost audio here so only briefly showed it, but it’s Kamakura's most popular shrine to visit and known for weddings!)
8. See Kamakura's famed Great Buddha Daibutsu at the Kotoku-in.
9. Take a romantic walk and watch the surfers at Yugihama beach.
10. Walk Wakamiya oji, especially during sakura season!

Usually after we remove the outer plastic layer of the rice balls, we put the rice balls back into the plastic layer on one side. We don’t eat them directly with our hands! Kamachang is most famous for the level crossing in the Japanese manga Slam Dunk. It’s a pity that you didn’t go there! The buildings and scenery there really make people feel like traveling through time and space! This is another episode full of spirituality and Zen. Thank you very much for sharing, super great job! 👍😍👏

There is a saying that says "the early bird catches the worm," and you spent a very peaceful time listening to the birds chirping in the silence and enjoying the clear air. In Kamakura, there are temples where hydrangeas bloom beautifully from late May to early July, so I hope you will visit again if you have the opportunity. It is a rainy season and very humid, but the hydrangeas blooming in the rain are very beautiful!

It's a good idea to go to Kita-Kamakura early in the morning. The clear air felt good, right? It is a calming place with many historical buildings and old private houses. June is famous for its hydrangeas. Kita-Kamakura and Kamakura are beautiful and popular anytime, even after the cherry blossoms have fallen or before the hydrangea season. Please enjoy Japan to the fullest.

Shrines and temples in the early morning are so beautiful. What I can't believe is that they already finish cleaning till the sun rises to welcome tourists. The tempura leaf is shiso. Very easy to grow. So if you like it, get its seeds at a diy shop.

What does [SAKURA] mean? It means that the god SA (Inari God: God of Fertility) stays in the mountains in the winter and comes down in the spring. There, farmers hold banquets under the cherry blossoms with the gods in hopes of a bumper harvest, called ``hanami.'' Cherry blossoms mean ``happiness,'' and when the petals fall to the earth, it means that the earth is covered with happiness. In general, cherry blossoms give the impression of being lonely because the petals are falling like snow, but the original meaning is ``God comes in spring.''

Regarding the onigiri, after tearing the center part and pulling the plastic that separates the nori and rice from one side like you show in the video, I would use that plastic cover to hold the onigiri (just gently put it back into the triangle thing) instead of throwing it away, and then do the other side, and do the same. That way your fingers don't have to touch the food or you don't get your fingers dirty. Regarding Kamakura, you might want to come back in June during rainy season to see the hygrangeas at Meigetsu-in and others temples. It's crazy popular too.

During Japan's Golden Week period, in Kamakura, there are occasions where transferring from the Yokosuka Line to the Enoden Line may take up to an hour. This year, it's recommended to walk to areas like Hase and the Daibutsu, which would take around 25 to 30 minutes from Kamakura Station, where route guidance is provided. At Enoshima, to alleviate congestion in front of the escalators, advance tickets are sold at Katase Enoshima Station and around Benten Bridge. Additionally, gates that can be passed through with barcode-enabled online tickets have been installed. At each Enoden station, you can pay for your ride using touchless credit card payments, and using the all-day pass type of online ticket is also convenient.

I went to Kamakura in the Autumn and down that main path wasn't pink and honestly I had no idea they are Sakura trees. It was still nice though. But it does make you think how much planning they made to create that so that for 2 weeks of the year it becomes the spot to see sakura in the area. This happens too up and down the country, they plant them in a row, like Nakameguro river and lots and lots of places. More countries with similar climate should do the same, it's just so pretty !

It's funny you say that about the Sakura/Autumn foliage, we had thought the same exact thing - so much planning and care went into the landscaping of Japan and it is well suited to Autumn and Spring. So much of it was done tens or even hundreds of years ago too, knowing it would be for future generations. That's just amazing! It would be great if more cities did this! I agree!

Love can be blinding, but when you start to feel uncomfortable, it will be a long goodbye even if the other person burps. After all, "keep your distance" is important. I can't help but think.

Hi!! We stayed in Japan for 7 weeks this trip, but unfortunately just left a couple days ago! We have a few videos filmed - including from Tokyo! :) Although we are deciding if we should try to release them right away or stagger them over time!

Thanks for the shooting!😊 Just one thing that has been bothering me for a while now as I was looking at it. You often eat tempura for your meals, but you said you don't like raw fish.🥲 But I think you are talking about your home country, aren't you?🤔 Please try a bite of sushi or sashimi, even if it is just a little bit. You will probably have a different impression. The freshness of Japanese fresh food is, in my opinion, probably the best in the world! It would be a shame to come all the way to Japan and leave without eating fresh food!😅 Why? Because all the foreigners in the other videos say so! It's so different from their own country and so tasty!😋

Hi!! We only have had tempura like two or three times this trip (which was 7 weeks long!!)… we just happened to film it every time 😆 We’ve had sushi (Alan tried it again and still does not like it 🥲), I love it though! It is amazing in Japan!!! He just does not like flavors from the sea at all. No seaweed. No bonito. No dashi. No fish or oyster sauce. He’s tried shellfish. He doesn’t enjoy miso (which isn’t even fish but he swears it tastes so lol). 😭 poor guy doesn’t even like eggs. He struggles in Japan with a lot of the food scene… which is a shame because I love it so much!! lol. He has come around on shrimp though… sort of. We’ve gone to sushi a couple of times to humor me, but also have had curry, udon, soba, yakiniku, katsu, gyoza, ramen, and lots of international restaurants around Tokyo too. Plus we cook at home a lot. :)

@@IfWeGoTo Ah, that was the Tempura thing, wasn't it? Or rather, it was your husband who dislikes raw food, wasn't it? I thought it was you!😂 I apologize for that.🙇 And your husband has tried many things, hasn't he? But it still didn't work, did it? I am sorry to hear that.🥲 But there are many other delicious foods in Japan, so please try them. Also, there is a category in Japan called YO-U-SYO-KU (Western-style food)!😋 Curry and Katsu are included in this category. Have you heard of Omu-rice? This is also included. And let me tell you something good! You may have already tried it, Katsu (pork cutlet), Karaage (fried chicken)🍗, and Yakitori (grilled chicken). These three are said to be the ones that foreign people would definitely like!😆 By the way, my recommendation is Curry with Pork Cutlet!🍛Very delicious! (LOL). Please give it a try!🤗

Yes, my husband does not like seafood, shellfish, or sea flavors at all! No worries, he is the one missing out hahaha! He has tried many things, but still does not like them! Luckily he does enjoy a lot of Japanese food despite this!! He loves curry and katsu! He does not really like eggs though - so no omurice for him. I love it though! Thank you for your recommendations!!! :D

@@IfWeGoTo I see, I understand, thank you very much! Now, let me introduce one thing for those seafood-hating husbands!😉 (Sorry for being persistent. This is the last one.)😅 In Japan, there is another type of rice bowl, which is a bowl of rice topped with a variety of dishes. They are also very tasty! For example, there are Gyuudon (beef bowl), Tendon (Tempura deep flied bowl), Steak don (Steak bowl), and so on. (For you, there are also Katsudon (pork cutlet bowl), Oyakodon (chicken and egg bowl), Kaisendon (seafood bowl), Unadon (eel bowl), etc.). If you are still in Japan, please give it a try.😋 And by the way, I am Japanese. I apologize for the delay in explaining. (LOL).😂 I also apologize for my poor English up to this point. I used an English translation site for all of this.🥲 Enjoy the rest of your trip in Japan. Have a nice trip!🤗
