I am from Guwahati . Everybody in Assam close their temples for 3 days in a year because Maa gets period during this time. After 3 days we wash every single stuff of our home and do puja. we worship Maa Kamakhya. I am one of devotee. Whether you believe or not, it is the most powerful temple . You go and share your problems, I am assuring you'll get all solutions.

I am an assamese girl I also visit kamakhaya temple recently . it's give you very devotional and pure feeling when you visit the temple. Our assam is more magical then people thought just visit assam and I promise we never make you feel regret

I visited and worshipped Maa Kamakhya when I was on a trip to Meghalaya, before I could know the mahima of Devi Kamakshya I was astonished we got two good news, then after coming back I listened about Devi Kamakshya Shakti on every aspect of people life. Can u plz tell me little more about this temple? I visited Guwahati two days back but was embarrased to hear this female body part being worshipped, so did not not visit this temple. I was something so new and strange to me. I am a woman.

@@thetree7694 off course, This is a Big temple as you know. It was built more then 1000 years ago. Exact date is not known yet. Mythology, it was believe that lord Shiva's Wife body was cut into 17 parts by Lord Vishnu. And all the 17 parts was fallen in different locations. So this part was fallen on this site, thus Kamakhya Temple was built.

We are very privileged to have kamakhya devi maa as our kuldevi .

I am from Assam and this is the story in our household about Kamakhya temple. The temple was built by Narakasura. He wanted to marry Maa Kamakhya but she put a condition that a temple should be setup on a hill with staircase leading to it for devotees. The work needs to be done in one night before the dawn, i.e. before cocks crow. Narakasura had completed half the staircase from the bottom but she tricked him by making a cock crow before dawn. This is such an enchanting story from our childhood.

Love from Guwahati, Assam. Our king Naranarayan (koch Rajbangshi) rebuilt this great temple in 1500-1600 year. In the month of June Mela called Ambubachi Mela where many people visit this temple. 🇮🇳

People keep a very wrong impression about maa Kamakhya mandir that all tantrics and aghories keep roaming here and there. It is not like that. They may be there but not very open to all public. I am from Assam and we keep visiting Kamakhya mandir for Maa's blessings but I have never encountered with any such tantriks. Here we have pure devotion for Maa Aadi Shakti (power).

I don't care about the energy level. I just went once and saw the innocent animals getting slaughterd just to get the human wishes fulfilled. I did not like it and never went there again.

@@mompisaikia7898 The higher the level of compassion, the further a person will move away from such rituals. Old ill practices are of no use. If its a must then some sort of alternative puja must be done that involves no mindless animal sacrifice. Anyways humans are selfish they will do whatever they want to fulfill the materialistic desires..

Why are all these Mas and such temples only in India. Also the divine should be in our heart. We should worship Him or Her in spirit, quietly in our heart and not in some state ( like woman getting periods etc)
