A recite-and-dance art-form introduced in the 18th century by Kunjan Nambiar. This folksy performance, often filled with humour intended at criticism of society, is accompanied by a Mrudangam & the handy Idakka.
Story context : Kalyanasougandhikam - an episode from the life of the Pandavas in exile. Bheema sets out to the forest, searching for the kalyāṇasaugandhikam flower to please Panchali (Draupadi), and finds his spirit-brother Hanuman in the forest while doing so. The meeting between Bheema & Hanuman is the context of the presentation here.
