First show me any archeological proofs

From what i can see from the trailer Deepika is carrying Kalki (who's supposed to be the next incarnation of lord vishnu who will fight the injustice and then a new cycle will begin) . Amitabh Bachchan is playing ashwathama who's an important person in Mahabharat. This movie is taking the things and people written in our scriptures and taking that into the sci-fi route. If they stick the landing it'll be huge in India and overseas too

Guys.. Kamal Haasan plays a negative role in this movie. It's very exciting to see kamal haasan as a villain as he rarely acts in a negative role but he really delivers. Last time he played a badass villain 15 years ago in a movie called "Dasavathaaram" not only he played the badass villain. He also played 10 freaking roles. Hope you guys will watch and react to it someday.

7:15 yeah but that's similar to the character of prabhas, wish we had subtitles earlier so that you guys can figure out what prabhas says. He says something like "oh man ! Why wake up for a fight THIS morning? I had a great dream, we were in complex" so it's kinda goofy but his arc changes in the film. So the movie kinda matches with his theme.

Also the fact that the vfx looks pretty visible in some scenes where ashwathama jumps and when Prabhas flies off from his car. I just hope that they stick well with the world building and science fiction

8:03 I get your point about the music but this is not Dune or starwars the main difference is they are totally made by a fictional story but what makes kalki different is this is a fictional movie made off of real prophecy and entire story is deeply rooted and filled with real characters from indian history, the character amithab bachan playing is ashwathama an immortal warrior who is believed to be still alive roaming on earth among us since 6000 years since he got cursed by lord krishn during mahabharatha war, so it makes sense that there's all sorts of bgm indian tribal drums to modern bgm since the events are taking place in future

I think their point is valid about the popular music used in the movie. It kinda ruins the Si-Fi dystopian atmosphere to some degree. I can understand why filmmakers go with this idea given that Indian audiences are very much used to music and can mold into popular music in sci-fi movies without any issues. But they're gonna face some criticism for this from people who have only seen western sci-fi movies which are western audiences in general.

It is definitely Dune and Star Wars. The problem with Indian audience is.. They fail to differentiate between the mythology and the movie. This is a MOVIE. And it is clearly inspired from Dune. The visuals, the setting, the battle sequences.. Which is no shame. If you didn't know, Star Wars is not original. It is itself inspired from Dune (the novel).

This is what I want to see in Indian cinema. Makers pushing the envelope and raising the bar with respect to VFX and scale of the film really gets me hooked. What's also pretty important to me is all the grandeur beautifully woven into a good story. Hope this film delivers big time and is embraced by the audience.

Phew.. This is Worldclass, to say the least.. The Vision behind the World Building, the work put by the concept artists is Awe- Inspiring!!! Special Shout- out to the VFX artists who have elevated the level of CGI to be almost in par with Big Budget Hollywood movie.. No wonder a Visionary like Kamal Haasan Sir agreed to be part of this movie, although his role in this movie is an extended cameo and Man his aura, screenpresence, look/makeup, voice is menacing and he is going to be the highlight of this movie.. Amitabh Bachchan Sir's screen presence, voice and towering personality is a huge asset to this movie and role he plays is any actor's envy.. Deepika's role is a surprise and not what I presumed to be from the First look. How her character blends into the narrative is something m very much interested in!!! Prabhas must thank Nag Ashwin for this movie, as his career is on a downhill since Bahubhali and m sure this movie will give a fresh lease of life to his career .. Last but not the least, Nag Ashwin is done what no other Filmmaker has been able to since last 100 yrs of Indian Cinema and this movie would be a reference to all future Filmmakers in India and across the globe (except Hollywood) on how to merge mythology and Science film Elements and give a Wildly Original, Visually Stunning Sci-Fi spectacle to the Indian audience that we could be proud off for yrs to come..

Incorporating Indian mythology with futuristic technology is the best thing about this movie (as it seems). I’d say its quality is on par with hollywood movies and the style also looks a little hollywood-ish. When Bollywood has hit rock bottom, south movies are becoming even better. My only concern is they don’t push local Indian things like food, clothes, stories etc. alongwith the movies to make them popular abroad, like how hollywood and Japanese animes does it. They still need to understand the importance of these little subtleties which propagates your culture. For example, they could have made ‘samosa’ that little kid’s favourite food and reiterated about it 2-3 times in the movie. Still they’re doing great.

Hey Achara and Jaby Kalki is the final incarnation of the god Vishnu. He is described to appear in order to end the Kali Yuga, one of the four periods in the endless cycle of existence (Krita) in Vaishnava cosmology. He will be accompanied by 7 immortals such as Lord Hanuman Ji, Sage Kripacharya, Mahabali ( a famous worshipper of Lord Vishnu), Ashwaththama (cursed by Lord Krishna, Amitabh is playing the role), Lord Parshuram, Vibhishan (brother of Ravana) and Sage Vyas Ji. I think this movie is just first part coz only Ashwaththama is introduced.

Kalki 2898 ad budget is $70M. Its a reasonable budget when you compare with recent hollywood movie Furiosa madmax saga which is of $168M.

@@VARMOT123 yeah but apart from the VFX part, indian makers don't need that amount of budget. Cgi isn't everything the movie has to offe, there's practical effects, sets too made in India. So it bridges the GAP! Between a Hollywood product and an Indian one I guess?

Let me explain why Indian audience is damn eager for this: In Hinduism, there are 4 Yugas (Eras). Satya Yuga (Golden Age) Treta Yuga (Silver Age) Dwapar Yuga (Copper Age) and Kali Yuga (Iron Age). The level of wickedness, badness and misery in world increases in every consecutive Yuga. As years pass, one Yug ends and another begins. Ramayan happened in Treta Yug. Mahabharat happened in Dwapar Yug. Currently we are in the Kali Yug (2024 AD). Now the interesting part, The Yugas aren't linear, they are in a circle like a clock, the end of Kali Yug would begin the Satya Yug. But as Satya Yuga is the holiest of all and Kaliyug the unholiest, the transition of these two Yugas won't be the same as the other pairs. When this happens, the Universe will face an entire wipe out and only the good souls will survive that will carry on the Satya Yuga once again. It is like a circle of life. What begins will end, and the end will bring a new beginning! There are more details of each Yuga, how they were, what were the timelines, how were the humans then, etc. Now, coming to the movie... You need to know that in these four Yugas, to maintain the balance and prove the victory of goodness vs evil (Dharma vs Adharma), Lord Vishnu, the Proprietor of the Universe incarnates in the mortal world for 10 times, called the 10 Avatars or Dashavatar. Avatar is an Indian word. [Dharma means righteousness and not religion here!]. I won't speak about all the Incarnations in detail here, but you guys must have heard about Shree Ram and Shree Krishn. They were the 7th and 8th Avatars of Lord Vishnu. Depending on necessities, He incarnated with different qualities and forms. In Treta Yug, Shree Ram established Dharma by defeating Ravan and establishing Ram Rajya, the rule of peace. In Dwapar Yug, Shree Krishn defeated Kans to protect his region, and his role in the Great Mahabharat to establish Dharm is known by you. Interestingly, till today, only 9 Avatars have been born and completed their goals. The 10th and last avatar of Lord Vishnu was prophecised to come at the end of Kali Yug to establish Dharm once again and this destruction will start the Satya Yuga once again. The name of this Avatar will be Kalki. Even the birthplace and names of parents are mentioned in the Holy books of Hinduism. This movie is based on the place, where Shambhapur will see the birth of Kalki (in the womb of Deepika). Amitabh Bachchan's character is of Ashwatthama, one of the 8 immortals of the world, who was cursed by Shree Krishn at the end of Mahabharat to be immortal and suffer. He and the other 7 Chiranjeevi (immortals) including Hanuman will pave the way for Kalki to reach his destination to defeat Kali, the demon. This movie has the backdrop of a very core subject which is close to us Indians and that's why, people will definitely appreciate it. I'll say a very interesting fact at the last: 1. It is believed that in Satya Yuga, good and evil were in different worlds, Devta (Demigods) in Devlok ans Asuras (demons) in Asurlok... 2. In Treta Yug, good and evil were in same world, Shree Ram and Ravan 3. In Dwapar Yug, good and evil were in the same family, Pandavas and Kauravas. 4. In Kali Yug, good and evil are in the same person, our own thoughts! THIS IS A VERY BIG LESSON I BELIEVE!

In an interview after the glimpse, when one person asked director Nag Ashwin this movie looks like a copy of dune then Nag Ashwin replied you are saying it because you see sand. But the fact is this movie unofficially started before dune and plot is very different. You will know when you will see movie.

Cinema shouldn't always be comparative. Star Wars had nothing rooted in any culture. However, Kalki is much much more epic owing to the 6000 year old Hindu mythology, spun across a sci-fi futuristic era. I think the concept alone is brilliant.

What a concept! Amitabh Bachhan as 'Ashwathama' ! The legend from mythology of Mahabharata , the incarnation of Lord Shiva and also the villain (or anti-Hero) who was cursed to never die and his talisman - the rare gemstone which gave him undefeatable status , was cut out from his forehead!

They watch Bollywood movies. But they are quick for this south reaction. At least this is better then the light show created by astroverse.
