KALIPETROVSKA RÛKA - КАЛИПЕТРОВСКА РЪКА - Dobrudža

Ойын-сауық

This “Rûka” comes from the village of Kalipetrovo in the district of Silistra in the northeast of Dobrudža. The dance got its name because people are holding hands during the dance (“Rûka” means “hand”). Typical is the constant and regular swinging of the arms. Another interesting thing is the different figures for the men and women. The style of Rûka is very steady with big arm movements and men dance deep in plie.
