Jaeger233 yeah, i agree in slovenia its the same, and i do not understand this in the usa, because it applies for everything you go to the store and see the price before the tax and then you have to add up...i mean how do you know how much you have to pay for somethjng if you have to do the math constantlz and i am not against doing the math, but if you are in a hurry and just grab something to eat and you could not have enough money

Yeah, guys, it sucks
I really like her as an actress but the tipping culture in the US is bonkers. Just pay your employees enough money and stop ripping off the customers. Eating out is expensive enough as it is.

Some waiters get paid enough at fancy restaurants. Its still polite to leave a tip. If the bill is high then its expected to leave a fat tip. Its kinda rude if you don't. Sure its not required but its polite.

@@Leva.Xterminator That's not the same thing at all. Could you, like, actually explain why we should tip them so much? It's not polite, it's just dumb. If you're rich, then sure, tip them as much as you want, but you shouldn't be expected to because they already get paid to do their job. Why is tipping even a thing? I don't get it. You do it because that's what you've known and been told to do your whole life, so you just don't question it, but when you actually think about it, it doesn't even make sense.

@@BlueHat1 You tip in the US because in most states, servers make $2/hr. That's right. Two dollars per hour. Customers are expected to tip. The system is stupid, but that's how it is. If you go out to a restaurant in a state where servers make $2/hr, you are expected to tip them.

People are complaining that this story is superficial but you are missing the point... It is supposed to be superficial, making fun of 'fake' one-dimensional societal problems through IRONY (rich white girl walking around her expensive house and complaining about tips and relationship). For what we know, the story can even be made up, partially made up, or simply missing some crucial details.

sorry, but i think you are trying to find complexities that don't exist. IF VOGUE is trying to poke fun at SUPERFICIALITY, and rich, white girls in expensive houses, complaining about one dimensional problems, then they are poking fun at a large portion of their own audience.

I actually don’t think it’s hinting at any irony. Vogue is superficial. I love it but it is. This is no deep, hidden meaning, ironic video. I think you should actually take it at face value, haha! Also, that is actually a terrible problem (bad tippers). People like that are horrible. If you can afford dinner out, then yes you should tip for the service as well. I understand if you go to those places with no table service that ask you to tip or if you had a horrible server...other than that, I don’t think people should go out for dinner if you can’t comfortably pay for the tip.

Søren Fogh well since the law has not done that yet and we’re not all law makers, we tip in North America. Plus a lot of the time, servers get paid a little below minimum wage legally because they make tips. And they can actually make a good amount sometimes!

I think that being as privileged as she is, it’s great that she is conscious about tipping servers who aren’t making a livable wage. In the U.S tipping is very important to servers who aren’t always making minimum wage. So kudos to her! Don’t think it’s a superficial story at all.

You could have sat down and talked with the guy about the tipping problem. Or have one person pay for the main meal and the other person tip, and then switch roles the next time you guys go out to eat.
This is like a Seinfeld episode.. And I'm here for it 😍
I have kind of the reverse problem :P If I'm dating someone that I know is barely getting by or complains about money issues, and I see them spending all their money on eating out and 30-50% tips, it makes me think that they are irresponsible and reckless with their money...definitely a turn off but not a deal breaker XD (and yes of course I would discuss the issue with them if I had a big enough problem with it)
My girlfriend does not have that problem... I always take her out for dinner to the drive-thru. Problem solved.
What if this was about a buy bashing after a girl wouldn’t tip to much, when she paid the whole bill, different isn’t?
