This performance is from a live stream concert they did on the Summer Solstice in 2020. After the concert they sat around a fire with other musicians who performed folk songs. They streamed all night until the sun came up. it was magical. We were still in the thick of Covid at the time and after months of being alone in my apartment working from home it was like being thrown a lifeline. The Line wasn't out yet so we were hearing this song for the first time. Ensom was another great highlight from this show. I really hope they release the whole show at some point. I'd love to experience it again!

Kalandra is really awesome.. sort on the same trail as Aurora. The singer is fantastic! Love this video.

I absolutely love this band! Katrine's voice is insane, but the rest of the band is fantastic too, and they all mesh together so well. So please, more Kalandra on the channel! I don't believe Aurora and Kalandra have done anything together, but they both are part of the Wardruna tree. Aurora did an awesome live performance of "Helvegen" with Wardruna (I don't remember if you reacted to that one), while Kalandra has a fantastic cover of the same song, and I believe Katrine worked with Wardruna in the past. Eivor is also part of that Wardruna/Helvegen tree.

@@Dave-hb7lx Sadly, I haven't seen that, and can't seem to find it. I too would love to see a collab between them.

Glad you liked. I listen to this CD in car continuous. The only collaboration that I know of between Aurora and Katrine is a 30 second acapella song on Tik Tok from a couple years ago and it appears from different venues and put together. The Gildehallen venue is in Borre, Norway. Was built based on archeological theory from the time. Based on readings, it was admirable if a Viking village had a "guild hall" like this. It was a social gathering site for the village.

I encountered them supporting Leprous in Manchester (UK) last year. I had not heard of them beforehand. 30 seconds into their first song (Borders) I was hooked. Met the band after the gig and they kindly signed the CD I had bought. Will be seeing them again in September as they undertake thier first headlining tour. BTW I have not heard a bad song by them.

Kalandra is Magic. That sequence going through the song reminds me off Ravi Shankar Philip Glass , Ragas in minor scale. Kathrine's vibrato technique in the end is typical Persian vocal technique. I think Kalandra are inspired by diffrent styles and I love it. They toured together with Leprous a year ago. Leprous is another Norwegian band with a more Proggy style. Check out their official video Running low. Love from Norway ❤

I have not been to concerts for like fifteen years, but I had to go to see Aurora in Prague last year, and Kalandra. Kalandra played in a small club with two other great artists (A. A. Williams and Lys Morke). All were very modest and lovely and you could meet them after the concert. I bought every song I could online. Even their soundtrack to Kingdom Two Crowns is gorgeous. They need to get famous. There is so few reactions on youtube.

Kalandra has become one of my favorite groups in the last couple of years. The keyboard that Katrine (the vocalist) uses is for her vocal effects. If you want to hear something more tribal, listen to Helvegen. Lullaby is a similar song, arranged that it starts slow but builds. Katrines vocals at the end will make your jaw drop. They also do a few things that are more ethereal. Borders is a masterpiece. Watch the official video. It's extremely well done, beautiful, haunting, and powerful. The entire "The Line" album is quite good.
