The cloth wouldn't burn because the flame burns above the lighter. Even when you turn on big stoves there's always some gap between fire and gas release point. He first lit the lighter then slided the sloth, he didnt pass the flame through the cloth, he slid the cloth in the gap above the lighter after lighting it. This tells me that he is totally fake.
