He was NOT mentally fit to take care of a newborn/little kid and probably needed those 12 years to work through his baggage to become a functioning person that can look after children.

For whatever reason the third hokage downplayed who Naruto’s parents were heavily to the point that most of the villagers had no idea. I vaguely remember there being some sort of “we don’t want to attract his enemies” reasoning for basically neglecting him. Even if they did know who his parents were he was a jinchuriki and most of the naruto world doesn’t like them to begin with so no one bothered to help.

Right misquote from Kishimoto to explain this Naruto's father Minato wasn't originally planned to the fourth (he was also still alive and might of being the original plan for the fifth) but anyway due to his mission he was in deep cover and therefore was reported as KIA. So Naruto being poor could of just been a sign that his parents weren't good with money/Minato's pay wasn't being paid out due him be 'KIA' and Naruto's mother plot reason for not being around. Originally Hiruzen was planned to be heavily involved in Naruto's life however as the developed that made less and less sense So yeah Minato was made the fourth until around the Chunin exam chapters were first released.

Kakashi taught them the most important lesson of all: if you feed someone who is hungry, they will fight god for you.

I think it was more every other team failed, and realistically, Team seven did fail, it was more that it was Minato’s son he didn’t want to fail and be left in poverty as a no-one. He lowered the bar so much from “show teamwork” to “just be a decent human being”.

Canonally it implied that Kakashi is unusually hard on his potential students, it also implied based interaction that people think he only based the Team due to the Sasuke-Obito connection (very few people are aware of the Minato - Naruto connection and also Naruto's behaviour) However, I think his canon reason for passing the team was due to his own team under Minato.

The bell test is very underated in why kakashi does it and fails his students. Basically if you do everything you wre told without being flexible you'll fail. If in a hostage situation(naruto on pole) do everything they say you'll get your allies killed for not trying to escape or keep the secrets safe. By feeding naruto they showed they can be flexible and not listen to orders(connects to kakashi's philosophy about leaving allies too) We see examples of kisame ending his life. Itachi keeping secrets to the grave. Hyuuga curse mark. Etc. Its a hard world in naruto and you need hard ninjas and Regina

Nearly teared up when Kakashi confronted the Third. Makes too much sense for Kakashi to be pissed, and I feel like Sirius Black should've had the same reaction with Dumbledore and the Dursley's.

OG Naruto is about hard work vs talent. Almost every arc touches on it. I guess you could say as a whole w/ Shippuden it's about understanding others' suffering, but it's really more of a coming of age story than anything else, and part of being an adult is becoming emotionally mature and exercising empathy. (A lot of adults skip this somehow?)

@@craigyeah1052 I’m not saying it’s not in there at all. but every major fight Naruto wins if he understands what the other person is going through and feeling. He beats Gara like that because through his experiences he knows Gara could have been Naruto if he didn’t have Iruka there for him recognizing what he has been through. The one major fight he loses is Sasuke cause he doesn’t understand him. He treats him like an object to drag back to the hidden leaf. He didn’t lose because talent > hard work. The last battle in the whole series Sasuke concedes after Naruto says he knows Sasuke needs a friend because he’s a hurt and lost kid deep down. He went through all of shippuden and part of that journey was mirroring sasukes to understand how it felt in his shoes. Then he finally wins against him and resolves the loss at the end of OG Naruto with what he learned. The first arc and last arc ends with the same thing. Recognizing that Ninja are humans with real emotions that are to be acknowledged and not ignored. He didn’t win cause talent > hard work. The way this theme runs through the start to the end proves it all. Also inb4 someone says “son of ninja Jesus” because they don’t understand the reincarnation system

@@djsjdh-hoahdi Naruto's fights usually do resolve with him changing people by understanding them and acknowledging their feelings, for sure, with Neji being the first major instance of this. Haku half counts since he acknowledged but didn't fully understand and hey he also only half won so that tracks. I could go on about how some major elements don't fit in as well, but overall I'll accept the idea empathy one of the main tenets of the show from the start, whereas it never really embraces the idea that hard work > talent, just plays with it a lot.

Dude doesn't even get his dad's house But then theres like sasuke who everyone likes, but his clan is supposably responsible for the nine tails attack. It was explored SLIGHTLY, in some parts that Sasuke's mom wanted to adopt Naruto but she couldn't because of the whole 9 tails thing where it would have been suspected to be a power play to gain dominance in the hidden leaf, or that they would raise Naruto as a human weapon.

I’m so hyped to see you doing a Naruto series, never been a fan of a channel this early so it’s been cool seeing you go from one video to where you are now!

Instead of seeing it as hilarious, this actually makes it heart warming. As a kid I never thought about any of this information that much. Now that I hear it again, it really is touching situation. That being said, even as a kid I could see Sakura was a 1 dimentional character who desperately needed to be more. I really appreciated how they made her and Naruto grow during the pain arc.

This was good. It's a shame that Kakashi in canon also abandons the poor orphan who is also the son of his late sensei who was also the hokage, in order to show preferential treatment to the school shooter. I hope you take this far enough so we can see how you spin that situation.

Kakashi was a 13 year old kid, with ptsd and depression from his team sacrificing himself, accidentally killed the other, his teacher and sister figure dead. He was might have thought the authority figures/adults especially those connected to the orphan parents (Sarutobi & Jiraiya)., would take care of the baby.

Naruto got lucky and just so happened to meet his actual teacher for the rest of the series but Kakashi didn't know that was going to happen when he bailed for weeks at a time.

I know this is a one-piece comedy channel, but I would love to see it expanded to other shows. I can't imagine how hilarious a pov of beerus, Frieza or Vegeta would be

The most horrible part of looking back to the first episodes where everyone treats Naruto like shit is that the people that could take care of him and KNOW for a fact what he actually is, did not help him. Poor kid has to eat food that has gone bad because no one can just give him some. Then I remember how the 3rd was like "The Hokage has to protect everyone", when he clearly failed Naruto and the Uchihas and Neiji's dad... For someone who was called the god of shinobi, he seems to be a very shitty Hokage. Naruto may be a freaking hypocrite at the end of the series because all the plot and how a Hokage is born or made... but what can I expect from someone that didn't have anyone who could guide him better (before the series started).
