This is so much better than most kaizo tutorials. For ages I couldn't even shell jump and I just had to figure it out myself.

I find it amusing that several people seem to not realise that you were just building safe setups, to demonstrate the tech, and commented with ways to cheese the rooms. Lol

I don’t want to criticise you - it’s a great video, but you’re basically teaching players to do a controlled shell jump. There’s no need to release the jump button after the release. If you do it as you say you get the shell jump, but it could be at any height. Most levels are made with max jumps in mind. Once again, it’s a great video for those who just started playing.

For the shell jump what also work is rolling your thumb from X to A buttons and holding it

Kaizo looks fun and hard at the same time

On the uploaded version you use smbu format... on the spring jump letting go of y just throws it against the wall. Am I supposed to hold down when letting go of Y?

A tip for shell jumping: you want to throw the shell at the very peak of your jump, while still going slightly up. If you just think about the peak of your jump, you'll get the hang of it really easily. Edit: I'm pretty sure this goes for POW jumping too, as well as some others.

In 3D world you can throw a shell into a clear pipe to the right walljump and make the pipe curve back around so if you groudpoud you can land on it

It's hard to do kaizo tricks but I try anyways some I have mastered

I know this sound stupid but how do you throw/drop stuff I jsut got Mario maker 2 and I can’t figure it out. I really want to be able to do kaizos since I’m into platformers but I know these kinda jumps are vital. Please help.

When I play the map now it is in the new super mario format did ue change it or is their a way I can?

One suggestion I have on the level you showed us was that the timer was too short. I got super far and did all of these cool tricks only to die and have to do it all over again. But other then that it was some good practice😀

There's many more kaizo tricks.

So, I've recently bought a switch and SMM2 but I've never played any Mario games before (aside from smb1 almost 20 years ago), and I can't for the life of me figure out a way to hold the controller and perform these tricks. Like, how do you press run and jump, hold jump, and release run just a second to throw the shell then hold run again? What am I missing here?

To answer your question, in order to run and jump, you must hold down Y with your thumb (Upper half) and angle your thumb in this direction \ to simultaneously hover over B. When you need to jump, press it with the area of your thumb that hovers over the B button.

@@stulkr4803 I play with a pro controller. That's the point, I am unable to reliably press two buttons with one finger, I tend to 'rest' it (holding the run or jump button while pressing the other button), so I can't do any of these tricks easily. I'm just too used to a keyboard I guess.

Controller input display would be nice

That's because it kind of is, most of the tricks are just simple kaizo tec that any pro can do, also the level was kinda poorly made as you could cheese the hell of it

His drop too late and drop to early are the same thing. I would call it drop too high

Power jump, p-jump, and spring jump are very similar! Still, I guess they are tricky for beginners like me...

you spin on the left side and then its almost automatic, just dont hold Z and correct if youre going too far to the right
