While the meaning of the song is interpreted different ways, I think there’s no right answer. It could be about toxic relationships, someone not liking you back, or someone not even knowing who you are but you fell in love with them. I always like to think (I don’t LIKE it, because it’s sad) this song is like a trick breakup song, where they sing about how much they hate this one person and it’d be better if they never existed, but near the end the singer says “Saisho kara boku dake” Which basically means “the person I loved was myself” which makes me feel like the person they hated and said “I’d rather you stop existing” was themself, and this is a song about hating yourself. And then they go through the chorus again and you get to hear it again with THAT perception in your mind. Idk that’s just how I felt when I first heard this song.
