this animation is JAW-DROPPINGLY impressive. I love the way everything moves, the music, the story. I'd love to see this as a full tv show, but I'm already sold on the comic just from this!

If you liked this, this animation studio just made a series called le college noir! So far it only has french original dub though

so this is a book series only? this animation is amazing. this should be a movie.

That chase scene is a key example of how the "runny eggs" style of animation works brilliantly if the animation budget allowed for constant movement in a scene.

This is still one of my favorite piece of animation like ever.... the artstyle, design, and the flow is insane... wish more big budget western industry actually making something with this type of direction....

I love how it being stylized doesn't hold it back from moving as fluid as it does, at this point good animation sometimes can use style as an excuse, But this is chef's kiss 😘😩👌 Perfect

10 years later and the grip that this animation has over me. I think about it at least 1 time a month. The comic itself was pretty good, but nothing has made me more interested in an IP than this trailer does for the comic. I don't even really remember the ending but I remember loving everything about this short. Thank you!

10 years indeed… I was 12 when this was posted… yet I never read the comics… I do want this, as well as Wings of Fire, to be animated into TV series

I just discovered this today and I truly wish this was a show or movie!

Whoa that is cool, interesting how the rescuer is slowly turning into the "monsters" he must defeat.

This was 10 years ago and it better than most animations on KZread now

The animation is beautiful! The parts with the splintering wood is amazing! I love all the detail that was put into it!

This trailer introduced me to the comic, and that comic is one of the reasons I've started learning French. :-)

The way this moves is still one of my favorite things ever

Found the book at a library and it’s so cool seeing these scenes brought to life

If this is ever going to become a show I need to be told immediately

i want this to be a show or movie SO FREAKING BADLY!!!! I bought the first comic, read it, loved it, but the others aren't in English! I can't get over how beautiful this is!!!!!!!!!!!

I also hate when mystic dinosaur creatures come from my fireplace and steal my wife. Now I have to go to another dimension to rescue her

They also did the 2D segments in Mune: Guardian of the Moon and I think they did the animation to the purple zone in that Adventure Time episode "Beyond the Grotto".

"Kill team Kill" animation style too

I remember seeing a rotoscope timelapse a while back for some of the scenes. Glad to see that it payed off for such clean final result!

This has an incredibly unique animation style and I think it's a damn shame it was never made into a series. Perhaps now that it's resurfacing on youtube, someone might pick it up for this new Golden Age of independent animation we've currently entered.

Why the hell is youtube only recommending this to people now? This looks awesome.

Yes, this is what I was looking for the style the sheer impression! I love it!

Awesome trailer! 😆 Made me track down an English copy on Amazon, which in turn is art excellence and worth it. Be forewarned it’s got a bunch of twists and turns and we leave you both bittersweet but also wanting more because it feels like it should have been longer.
