did the same trip 50 years ago took three pack horses up thu poranui station. dropped down into the old Boyd hut, nothing like the flash huts now. plenty of animals in those days.

+Beyond The Wire Productions Yeh he wasn't too bad aye, would have been stoked to get that for Phill's first! The stag he missed would have a nice first rep head too! We will just have to get back in there. :)

Follow your video's, thought I'd walk your talk. Just walked out. Boyd to Poronui in 1x day was the grind. Fantastic trip. No deer but enjoyed every minute. Where next? Colin

+VICKCOL Good stuff mate, yeh, that would have been a long day! Great country through there aye! Did you hunt around the Boyd?! Next mission is to Te Puke (Te Puke O Hikarua) Hut, down to Harkness Hut and then up to Tussock Hut again. Flying in and out with Chris Crosse from East Kaweka Helicopters. Was supposed to head in this Tuesday, but weather forecast looks crap, so will postpone until following clear spell! Cheers, Nik.

+newzealand gunsandhunting Yes. hunted up Te Matia stream through bush area to its heads, around to Boyds rocks and down track to hut. Some fresh sign on bush fringes but time against me to pursue. No fresh sign in tussock areas. Good sign (of cause) walking out down Waitawhero. Colin

Sweet, be a nice stroll up Te Matia. Yeh I bet! Haven't walked right through the Waitawhero, will at some stage. The headwaters of Oamaru River would be worth a look.
