I normally don't get to go with the guys because I should be
working Asia Hours already 😭.. But I do have to show up for at least a couple practices .. I'm just a FILL IN Racer for the Club because I"m "injured" .. I guess a. PADDLER of LAST RESORT ... LOL ! .. it's great because it's NO PRESSURE.. just enjoy the ride ..❤⚡
We did sets UPwind for about 40 mins ..
Toward the end of the UPwind Sets .. One of the Superfit Guys my age group asked me to "SPAR" on an 8 min Sprint set ! - so what could I do but comply ? - I stayed with him at about 45 SPM .. He went off blasting 65 then tried to maintain it at 55 to 60 - I quite was happy to go the same speed at a LOWER Heart rate as well.. because the real race is back to the Buoy ⚡⚡
Did not work out for him on the Return either ... So Paddling HIGH RATE..so called "Sprinting" only means something... ⚡⚡ if your boat can MAINTAIN a higher SPEED for LONGER - "Quickies" don't mean anything ⚡⚡ ... just shows lack of discipline in technique AND pacing .. Stroke EFFICIENCY will always HURT LESS and CRANKING S.P.M.s - Since I'm older I have to be Disciplined just to survive ..
Upwind everyone kinda staying together ... or so and turned around for FUN.. that's when it counts ...how you finish ! ❤❤❤
