Glad to see you at it. That tanker slosh is alot different than pulling a dry van. Its not for everyone.

Been driving almost 10 years love close to Decatur AL seen they was hiring so i put in for it we see.

Love that you are happy and making money!!! That said, nobody beats driving for Domino’s Pizza. Some are making 160k and home three days a week. I do four 12 hour shifts and make 140ish.

I'm glad you're liking this one. Looks like they're hiring in my area, the only thing I don't like is they have a lot of bad reviews all over the place and who knows why, disgruntled employees maybe.26$$ an hour is awful, you can make more than that driving a forklift in some places.The responsibility you have pulling around a tank full of gasoline is SO HIGH and the dangers you have doing that there's no way 26$$ is enough, that thing blows you're going with, it saw it happen in Miami in 1997 the very next day after a plane went down taking off from MIA, huge plume of black smoke, everyone thought it had happened again. Crazy stuff.

I read a lot of reviews before I applied. The negative reviews were almost always from fuel hauling. I don’t know if $26/hour and overtime after 40 is good or not. It’s local. I think they’re making $1,800/week. Texas Trans Eastern pays $85k. Pilot was advertising for $91k last year. I think the pay is on par with other places, just not Gemini or Sheetz.

Is it hard driving tanker compare to doubles ? Was thinking pulling doubles but saw a xpo double almost jacknighg in front of me one night makes me realize that’s a lot more dangerous than dry van. Nice video btw thx for sharing

I’m not sure if one is easier than the other. I had to hard brake one day due to being cut off (and it was a dry, sunny day), and the trailer brakes locked up and started to cause a jackknife. The tanker was empty. I’ve only ever done that on a wet road with doubles. Hope that helps.

Hey Chris I live about a hour from a kag specialty chemical terminal. Do you get to take the truck home with you ? And what kind of schedules do they have ?

I take the truck home. There are no set schedules, unless you’re dedicated. If you’re delivering a load, and you make it home Friday, then you request a load that picks up Sunday or Monday. Whichever day you want to return to work.

KAG requires a year of driving experience, but they’ll train you on the tanker part. The only companies that I know who train brand new drivers would be Schneider and Prime. Schneider has local tanker positions, check them out.

@@user-bf8jq7rh3v probably. I’m not sure what the size charts are, but they give you a few shirts, and a one-piece suit, as well as the rubber suit, goggles, rubber boots, and a hard hat. You may never have to wear that suit, but they provide it.

Happy your happy man! Sounds like KAG is where it’s at for ya. Looks like they’re hiring some drivers in Florida for merchant gas. Any idea how that fleet is compared to specialty?

Not really. I believe they’re similar to a company like PRAXAIR. A tank with a box on the rear. I’ve heard it pays well, but I haven’t seen much of that around me.

I believe it’s OTR, and you’ll be used at the terminals when needed (same as call and demand drivers, I think).
