my black mission fig has rust... been really moist and rainy down here. Did some reading and most fungicides aren't usable for figs.. just have to prune off the infected leaves and treat with neem oil, which is good. After seeing that video where you talked about fungicides killing off the microbial activity I've been sparse with the copper spray I have.

A friend came over and noticed something strange. My kadota has typical shaped leaves on the whole tree except for one lower branch which has leaves with 5 fingers. It is not two plants in one pot. Its like the bud had a mutation. He mentioned that the way some of these varieties started was someone noticing bud sports and propogating them.

Is your tree grafted? If so could be the root stock

kzread.info/dash/bejne/aXytsLdwkbq4Yso.html My mustake, it wasn't the Kadota, was the Violette de Bordeaux. It is not a grafted tree as far as i can tell nor would the price of it at time of purchase indicate it was grafted. I got it in a tiny cup as a single stem plant for 5 bucks.

Will the roots of this tree occupy a lot of space and cause problem for other plants?

Fig roots are very aggressive, my relative’s home has fig trees that are 30+ years old and there seems to be no damage to surrounding areas. Also, like with any tree ensure that you water very deeply to ensure roots grow downward as much as possible
