KADEY KROGEN 58 - [Talk Through Tour] - SOLD

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

SOLD! Congratulations and safe travels to the new owners.
Miller Time is hull number 5 of the largest Kadey Krogen model. She is an actively cruised trawler that is truly ready-to go. Her two-stateroom, two-head layout is a comfortable floating home that also enjoys safely resting at anchor in style. An incredible amount of time, energy and money have been extended to keep Miller Time ready-to-go whenever the motivation to get away beckons
The current owners decided to work aboard and go out cruising - as a fun way to ease into retirement. After a reasonable search they settled on the Kadey Krogen 58 as their preferred trawler model. Purchased in 2017, Miller Time immediately went into a Fort Lauderdale, Florida shipyard to have deck hardware removed and the exterior painted. That was the start of what has continued to be an outstanding series of improvements to make this vessel better while proudly being cruised.
Capable of long range continuous-duty travel, her raised pilothouse and twin John Deere engines enable owner operators to run through the night for several days to comfortably complete an ambitious passage. The owners have ventured along the US eastern seaboard cruising from Maine to the Florida Keys, as well as enjoying vacations in the Bahamas.
Miller Time has provided an ideal platform to complete the transition from careers to retirement. It is now time for the owners to seek new adventures ashore with family and grandchildren.

    @@JeffMerrillYachts Thank you. I apologize in advance for the chatty response. I'm 6'6," and I find that most trawlers between 40-60ft have a headroom of 6'5" give or take an inch, in most of the key areas of the boat. The funny thing is that I saw several dozen people my height and above at the Annapolis boat show last year. They must struggle with the same issue of not knowing the headroom because so few manufacturers think it's important to state this simple measurement online and in their glossy brochures. Kadey Krogen seems to have found the right balance in favor of the living spaces. Then I went on an R27 Ranger Tug and had a solid 2 inches over my head. Go figure. The bottom line is, thank you for posting the headroom in your videos. It really helps those of us (over 6'5") currently doing research for their first trawler. Take care.

    To me, this is a great boat for two, assuming they want a full office space, and don't want passengers along for the long haul. It is too much a specialty layout for me. I can't imagine having family, grandkids, friends along for the cruise, because the cabins are too close together, and the office (which could have been a third cabin) are way too close to the guest quarters. To me this is a cramped 58 footer, something I could not imagine before I saw this particular layout. Spend another million and get the 1997 Crescent, a 96' boat with 7 cabins, room to hand off the wet work to a captain and engineer, and party down with a chef and several fun and interesting guests.

    Ammo: Your preference is one reason why there are so many trawler choices. I was just talking over the weekend with the owners of a sistership KK58 who were out cruising with their grown children and grandchildren. This is a very popular layout for many reasons. Yes, the optional layout is to have the office be a guest cabin. Both interior arrangements work very well and it's nice the builder offers a choice. Thank you for watching.

  • @DrCrabfingers

    @DrCrabfingers

    You pays your money and takes your choice. This is a long range cruiser...one to two people crew, occasional guest cabin use. If you like the idea of spending 4-6 wks at sea with grandchildren I think you are wise to choose a bigger boat!! There are many large steel hulled cruisers available that are 40 years old and half the price of this boat...the choice is almost infinite. For me this boat is perfection for a solo sea dog or couple. The owner is the captain here...that's the point of the boat.
