Let's not forget the wonderful Debbie Allen. The show wasn't doing well by the second season until Bill Cosby hired Debbie to come in and take over. She was the main reason the episodes where so in touch with real life. THANK YOU FOR YOUR LIFE CHANGING CONTRIBUTION TO "A DIFFERENT WORLD" DEBBIE.................

Different World will forever be a part of world history for America! The show was more than powerful, and the casting was superb! I wish we had this type of show today on television.

I went to college and became the man I am today because A DIFFERENT WORLD gave me hope and a vision that I could be anything in life I wanted to be..I saw myself in the characters..I appreciate the message it sent..

I still love a Different World!

Different World came at the perfect time. To be a young pre-teen/teenager and seeing us portrayed on mainstream television about college life at an HBCU. It did the culture just right. To inspire us to be sophisticated, educated young black men and women and make marks in this world...Man I wish I could relive those days.

A Different World was "that" show...the Perfect show 🖤

My daughter and I watch A different world together as a mother daughter BONDING MOMENT, because every show has a message that applies in life today. Thank you so much, because I grew up watching the cosbys which taught me how important education was, and a different world taught me how to take my education and life seriously. I'm 43 and Dewayne and Theo were tv crushes. 😊

That Cats in the Cradle episode was monumental.

this was the type of show you want your kids to watch....real raw and legit❤

This show was so……impressionable. And I mean that in the best way possible. It imprinted on my mind as an elementary school student going into middle school. So many things from DR, to the HIV episode, to colorism with the Mamie episode. It informed me so much. I don’t think we can recapture that kinda of magic again so I just thank God I was alive and aware enough to understand it in real time.

OMG one of my favorite shows of all time. I loved every character on this show. Everyone had their own unique personality. I grew up watching A Different World and still watch it to this day. It will always be so special to me. ❤️

Jasmine looks amazing. She is truly a beautiful woman. So glad they took us behind the scenes of this iconic show ❤

@@1MChantye Jasmine has battled lupus for almost 20yrs now. She's been so sick to the point almost dying. She went through a touch divorce and a stagnant career. I'd say she looks amazing considering what she's been through. We as women shouldn't be so quick to judge, let's show each other grace and support because you don't know what life has in store for you and I'm sure if life hits you like a Mac truck, the way it did Jasmine, I don't think you'd like such insensitive comments that you're dishing out....

@@Hyla73 That's good to know. I've heard stories for years how she's been battling lupus and even deathly ill at one point. I guess it wasn't hard to believe because at times she did look sickly, but I'm glad it was a rumor and she looks beautiful now ❤

I watched A Different World, then got a chance to live it at Tuskegee University ✊🏿

I STILL love the reruns of a different world. Even if I am getting a lot of stuff done around the place, ill still keep it on for that FANTASTIC dialogue in every episode.

Hey this show got pretty deep sometimes, it was needed 🙏🏾

I watched this show growing up but I appreciate it more as an adult. One aspect I really took for granted was the friendship between Mr. Gaines, Col. Taylor and Walter.

I'm so glad I grew up on this show and these two actors. That episode where they fought the guys still makes me tear up. It was such a powerful thing to watch and solidified my crush on Dwayne. For better or for worse, that scene where he interrupts Whitley's wedding moved me in ways I understood at the time and in other ways, I understand more now. The show is/was iconic and Dwayne and Whitley truly were my favorite ❤

If people wanted to go to college because of "A Different World "... just imagine what people wanna be when they look up to gangsta rappers and movies....influence goes both ways. Lets use our influence for the good.

Man! From like 1984-1988 all throughout my High School days it was all about the Cosby Show & A Different World. I could not WAIT for Thursday nights which is when Cosby aired at least on the West Coast that’s when it aired.

No more reboots. Hollywood is rebooting old shows to DEATH, tarnishing their legacy to satisfy an audience that is not the same as ppl back then. Think about it. It would not be better in our social climate

Jasmine Guy looks more like Whitley with long hair, I'm glad I was part of that era.

y'all don't know how much I love that show. That fight episode, along with the South Africa, and the Mammy episode was my favorite. when Dewayne said I'm an educated Black man your worst nightmare made me want to be just that. I was in the Navy at the time and visited Hampton University. Boy I wish I experienced that type of education environment.
