That best album win at the Grammys is a big win against all the mainstream competition and a big middle finger to country radio for the lack of air time Kacey got all year.

I hadn't heard about her until this morning... Before everybody starts teaming up on me... I just want to say that I enjoy the music and everything else... It just doesn't strike me as country music. It just sounds like good pop music.

@@dcdc139 Most mainstream country is just pop music with southern accents and "country" words. I'd agree this is more pop but it lines up with what is currently being put out. Country radio just hasn't played her since her first two singles even though she has gotten better vocally with time.

Although it's not my favorite song she's written, objectively it is her best song. So melancholic and sad yet liberating and beautiful. The pedal steel and more experimental arrangement is fresh and captivating and it really makes your bones shiver with emotion. Also, the play on words with "space cowboy" is so clever. I love Kacey very much. Very honored to be living in the same era as her.

Brilliantly written lyrics, clever plays on words throughout, and her talent is untouchable right now. She is exactly what country music, and music in general needs right now.

Jenny wasn't much for listening to her pa. Where there was trouble, Jenny found a way to slider her way in to it. She was like a wild horse, never to be tamed. Always running through the fields of life. That is, until she met Jacob, a traveling cowboy. He walked up to Jenny's pa and requested to work on his farm for some extra traveling pay. Pa didn't approve, but knew they could use a good strong back. Walking around without his shirt, Jacob indeed had a big, broad, sun tanned, strong back. One warm Summer night while Jacob was sleeping in the barn full of pa's horses, Jenny snuck in to visit this cowboy. "Hello? Y'all in here?" she whispered in the dark barn, lit only by the strong white beams of the moonlight. Just then Jenny heard the gentle galloping of hooves all around. It wasn't until she saw Jacob step out in to the moonlight that she realized the galloping were the shifting of his hard chiseled perfectly-toned abs. Jacob was completely naked, spare his slick worn cowboy hat and dusty boots. In his hand was a lasso curled in circles, tightly secured by his firm grip. "What's ya doin out here so late at night?" Jacob's warm deep rugged voice shook the pillars that held up the barn. It also shook Jenny's cold beating heart. "I brought you some freshly baked apple pie." Jenny whispered, her now standing so close to Jacob she could smell the sweat on his chest. "You do like apple pie, don't ya?" Staring in to the bright shining depths of his ocean blue eyes, Jenny saw the moon itself hidden within, and it was howling for Jenny, a call she couldn't ignore. Jenny that night entered that barn a wild horse. When the morning sun rose, Jacob was gone. She left the barn tamed and refreshed. On that day Jenny knew the purpose of a cowboy. It was to live, love, and tame wild horses. Nine months later, Jenny would give birth to triplets, every one of them already sun-tanned and smoking rolled tobacco the second it emerged from her womb. Will Jenny ever see her cowboy again? Maybe...when the full moon rises and the wolves howl.

This is one of those things that happens to avid music fans. Her first two albums were life changing for me (for whatever reason) and due to that, I want more of that fireside, grassroots style. However, I completely understand that someone this talented needs to throw her hat into the public forum and while I don't personally enjoy the new album anywhere near as much as the previous albums, it is an excellent transition into the mainstream Pop and Country market. This is a sacrifice I'm willing to accept as a fan because I want her to be so successful! She deserves it! I hope one of these songs hits huge and then after some time she returns to that rebellious and free country sound.

Lyrics u look out the window While I look at you Sayin' I don't know Would be like saying that the sky ain't blue And boots weren't made for sitting by the door Since you don't wanna stay anymore You can have your space, cowboy I ain't gonna fence you in Go on ride away, in your Silverado Guess I'll see you 'round again I know my place, and it ain't with you Sunsets fade, and love does too Yeah, we had our day in the sun When a horse wants to run, there ain't no sense in closing the gate You can have your space, cowboy After the gold rush, there ain't no reason to stay Shoulda learned from the movies that good guys don't run away But roads weren't made to not go down And there ain't room for both of us in this town So you can have your space, cowboy I ain't gonna fence you in Go on ride away, in your Silverado I'll see you around again 'Cause I know my place, and it ain't with you Sunsets fade, and love does too We had our day in the sun When a horse wants to run, ain't no sense in closing the gate So you can have your space You can have your space, cowboy I ain't gonna fence you in Go on ride away, in your Silverado I'll see you around again 'Cause I know my place, and it ain't with you Sunsets fade, and love does too Oh, we had our day in the sun When a horse wants to run, ain't no sense in closing the gate You can have your space Yeah, you can have your space You can have your space Cowboy

For anyone who wants to play this on guitar, here's how :) Capo 1st Fret Strum Patterns: 1) ↓ (for the beginning and any other mellow parts) 2) ↓ ↓↑↓↑ (for when it picks up; most of the song) C, Am, Em, F These chords repeat with those strum patterns for about the first 2/3 of the song, then when the bridge hits the key changes! You will switch to these chords with the same strum pattern: D, Bm, F#m, G Hope this helps out! If you get stuck or need a little extra help, I just uploaded a video lesson for this on my channel :)
