The Census enumeration scheduled to take place in 2021 has been further pushed to 2024-25 until further orders. In a letter sent to all states and Union Territories last month, the office of the Registrar General of India (RGI) has extended the deadline of freezing of administrative boundaries to June 30, 2023

Delaying census will affect our country a lot. Government should not run away from its primary responsibility of policy making for future.

मैं चाहता हूँ कि जनगणना हो ताकि ये पता चल सके कि हिन्दी भाषा कितने प्रतिशत बढ़ी है इन दस से अधिक वर्षों में ये देखने के लिए जनगणना होनी चाहिए। वैसे अच्छा है कि जनगणना 2026 यानि पूरे पांच वर्षों के विलम्ब के बाद करवाई जाएगी जिससे हिन्दी भाषा कि वृद्धि इन अतिरिक्त पांच वर्षों में भी हो जाएगी। 😊🇮🇳
The census as a convention is held every 10 years but the government has foolishly deferred it indefinitely.

Census will be held after 2026 because the government wants to increase the seats in the Lok Sabha. And the Lok Sabha seats have been increased with respect to the census after 2026.

If census will do accurately then I'm 100% sure India's population will be nearly 150 crore.
वर्तमान सरकार से नहीं हो पायेगा। जनगणना होनी ही चाहिए, वो भी सामाजिक, आर्थिक, जातिगत जनगणना होनी ही चाहिए। बिना जनगणना के किसी भी नई योजना और चालू योजना का आकलन, समीक्षा सही तरीके से होना मुश्किल है ।
Census Delaying was done by govt intentionally.

For example Hindu women of Bihar have a higher Tfr than compared to Kerala muslim women because Keralite muslim women are more educated than Bihari Hindu women. Even among poor upper caste women, Tfr is 1.9 while among rich upper caste families it is 1.5

Census critical for planning in India. I have worked as a census worker in UK twice and it's done properly in UK COVID has affected census in India and caused delays but unless it's done how will you know how many deaths happened? Population has increased as well ....how many births in the country ? How can you plan in India without facts? How many illegal rohingyas in India? Census records would find this out?
