I really hope Hasbro doesn't miss Shanna. Kazaar and Zabu both look great, and it would be very disappointing if Shanna looked like the last ML Invisible Woman.

I think the one major advantage is going to be the digital face printing has improved. I believe that retro Sue was hand painted and didn’t hit the landing. If warbird and black widow are any indication, I think she’s gonna be amazing!

They're not going to have accurate adult woman anatomy and look like their classic self. They'll probably go with the full coverage leopard print top, except (per normal) it'll be a uni-boob with no separation between the two breasts.

Kazar was meant to go with Zabu....as a set, they look great. Now bring us a Shanna and it'll be a rap.

This would make a great Conan the barbarian custom

I might get a few of these to make some prehistoric hunter gatherers

xcorpeo, I was happy to see you include Zabu in the review as it was intended for both to be displayed together. I could see a set in the future with Shanna as well. Budget probably dictated how much Hasbro could accesorize or detail Kazar. The mold looks completely different from Guenhwyvar the panther mold. Well done. A solid review as always Be well✌️

I had the same thought, but in reverse - in regards to the MOTU Revelations Savage He-Man. Makes for an excellent Kar-Zar.

I am glad we Got Ka-Zar when previously he was only released as a like a CC exclusive. I got both to use one as a Conan the Barbarian so I can have a bit of the Savage Avengers going on.

I wish they would have swapped arms so he didn't have those cuts at the forearms, kinda unsightly, that could have been rectified by giving him some of those more modern design elements like you said. Some gauntlets would have made it look a bit better, and he definitely has some in certain designs

Yep the cuts in the arms spoil the look somewhat. Pretty good overall but Jada's Street Fighter figs have a better articulation setup.

I swear those cut on his forearms from the Vulcan body really annoys me. They don’t rotate anyways so why are they there??? If the sculptors can eliminate the butterfly joint on Angel and if they can give Ka-Zar nipples then they can for sure remove the cut on the forearms.

Even though my days of buying just about every Marvel Legends is long gone (due to all the normal reasons); looking on the bright side, I really love the digital print paint jobs. As much as I vastly love NECA stuff more, the paint is far more inconsistent. Like the toon Turtles line for example is all still painted by hand; so even when I'm able to order doubles off Target, I'm lucky if one set doesn't have too many major paint defects. With Hasbro stuff, I can just order one of everything, and I know I'll have a 90% chance of everything looking right.

Thanks for being one of the first to get us a review of this figure. As hard as I try though I can’t make out the faint five o clock shadow that you mentioned. Was it just a result of the combination of sculpting and lighting that gave that effect ?

I'm probably going to find an extra tooth necklace to put on my Ka-Zar, and he'll be good to go... I'm also planning to try and get a couple of extras so I can do a custom Conan the Barbarian, by Crom!! And also a Mini-Ternia style Barbarian He-Man... he's already got the spear like the mini-comic, and the boots too... just add an extra force field harness and get him a Battle Ram/Skysled, and he's all set...!

*Excessively* frustrating that they didn't use the new forearms from X-Men '97 Magneto

At last hasbro stepped up and helped Mattel in getting he-man face right.

Gonna throw some leather strap gauntlets on the forearms and the tooth necklace is a must to complete the look.

Fantastic review, as always! I sure am getting tired of that lower torso mold from the vulcan body and I'm very bothered they used it here in spite of sculpting a new upper torso. The sharp cut off from the abs is hideous and visible at almost every position other than the vanilla pose.

I'm not a Ka-zar fan but I want to get him to go with my beast of the mesozoic dinosaurs.

Since they went with the boots, it would've been cool for them to have gone all out (with making them look like their X-Men animated look) with the necklace, bracelets/armband, and the knife sheath w/waist strap.

Tarzan figure

He is missing his necklace, and I don't understand why they went with his boots, but I don't think he's as lack-luster as you find him to be. He looks great, even with all the misses. I'll see if I can match him up with the lower legs of a Sub-Mariner figure. Don't know if that will work, but I'll see about that. I'll be making him a necklace for sure, and some wrist bands. Both easy enough to do. Again, not sure why Hasbro doesn't include little bits like that--especially because this is the "Ka-Zar wave!" You'd think they would go every extra mile on this figure, but they often allow their budgets to dictate accessories, paint apps, etc. Too bad, because it's the #1 thing that always holds Hasbo's Legends line back, and gives Hasbro their cheapskate reputation. The head sculpt looks amazing though, and it's nice to see a little paint on the weapons. Both could use more, but again, Hasbro's budget always comes before customer's wants. Lucky for me, I am a customizer, and all of this will just fuel my fun and hobby. Sadly, not all collectors will have the skill or desire to do things like that, and honestly, they shouldn't have to. Hasbro should strive to get the details right every time out of the gate. Their reputation is on the line with each figure they produce, after all.

Ka-Zar hits the right notes in proportion and poseability, and these two aspects are achieved by using the Vulcan body. I'm harsh because Hasbro didn't put the effort into designing him apart from being a basic caveman :/

@@xcorpeo I get that. I think it's less about effort, and more about budget, but either way, Ka-Zar should have gotten the MOST budget in the Ka-Zar wave. You'd think so, right? They should have pulled out all of the stops for him in particular.

Umm that's how classic Kazar looks in the comics 😅 so I don't get the issue with the figure design is lacking point. The character is spot on with his appearance

Good review! Since Hasbro didn't want to create a new body mold for Ka-Zar, I think they should've used the Sunfire one instead of Vulcan.

This is a great looking figure. I do feel you sometimes are very condescending to a like that’s trying to be everything to everyone and is arguably the best and longest running boys toy line. Great review
