கவியரசர் வாழ்ந்த காலத்தில் நானும் வாழ்ந்தேன் என்பது எனக்கு மிகவும் பெருமை. 1976 ஆம் ஆண்டு நான் வேலைபார்த்த அலுவலகத்தில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக வந்து மிக அருமையாக உரையாற்றினார். அந்நாளை என் வாழ்வில் மறக்க முடியாது அவர்அருகில்இருந்துபார்க்கும்பாக்கியம் எனக்கு கிடைத்தது . நான்கவிஞரின்தீவிரரசிகன். இந்த 75 வயதில் அவரையும் அவர் பாடல்களையும் நினைத்தப்பார்ப்பதில் அலாதி சுகம்

இதுவரை அண்ணாத்துரை கண்ணதாசன் அவர்களின் பதிவைத்தான் பார்த்து வந்தோம். இப்போது கண்ணதாசன் புதல்வர்கள் என்று நிறைய பேர் வருகிறார்கள். தற்போது இருப்பவர்கள் எத்தனை பேர் என்பதை சொன்னால் நன்றாக இருக்கும்.

இவருக்கு கவியரசர் அப்பா ஆனால் கவியரசர் தமிழரின் சொத்து என்றால் தப்பா.

Ayya I had the great oppotunity to see Kavingnar sitting in front of his house in 77, 78 ,79s when I was living just close to his house near Rajeswari kalyana mandapam. Many cars used to be parked around Nadesa mudaliar park. He had a trademark banian and an easy chair. Simple looking, high thinking. Great days. Unfortunately I never met him and talked to him as I did not understand the importance of great person living close to my house.

@@SubramaniSR5612 Yes Sir. In those days, no cell phone and camera too with me . Yes Sir, the live figure of Kavignar resides in my mind. I saw him innumerable days as a routine and also saw his majestic look in white silk shirt on the stage for his daughter's wedding receptions at Rajeswari Kalyana mandapam just opposite to my house in Radha Krishna street behind Agasthiyar temple. I wonder how could he imagine the ideas for each song from there. Paandi bazaar, Rajkumari theatre, little flower school, Agasthiyar temple, Nadesa mudaliyaar park, Rajeswari kalyana mandapam, Arcaot mudaliyaar street MGR productions ,panagal park, that flower smell on road, Saantha and Geetha Bhavan etc, these are the environment Kavingnar and we experienced in our life. Those were calm, peaceful and less populated and less crowded time. Kavingnar would not like this day's TNagar., if lived. He would have written good songs on the T nagar beauty lost. Thinking him I read Tamil and write too.
